ONLY IF WE ARE ORGANIZED CAN WE DIALOGUE WITH YOUTH ABOUT THE PROBLEMS THAT WORRY THEM TODAY
The Eurosocialist youth forum in Tirana
Opening the meeting, the district activist Edmond Maçellari stressed the further need for organization. As was said, meetings with the young people of Tirana should strengthen persuasion work and the growth of membership. Under the direction of the secretary of the Democratic Socialist Forum Piro Solis, yesterday’s meeting discussed the forum platform.
The chairman of the PSSH in Tirana, Ylli Bufi, said that the youth forum must have a clear political vision and weight in the life of the party. In this context it was stressed that youth problems require concrete solutions, not just slogans. At the same time it was assessed that unemployment, lack of prospects, and economic difficulties are among the greatest concerns of young people.
It was also underlined that relations with the party structures must be more functional and that the organizational base in schools and neighborhoods must be strengthened. In his speech he asked that activities not remain spontaneous, but be planned and linked to the concrete interests of the younger generation.
The discussions also addressed problems of emigration, education, and the role of young people in public life. Participants called for more direct contact with youth and a political language closer to their reality.
Aref Pilani, of the Eurosocialist youth forum in Greece, stressed the need for cooperation with sister organizations and for the exchange of experience.

“Those who politicized our Albanian people in tragic difficulties”
SALI BERISHA

Who politicized the police difficulties?
Did you notice yesterday, as Mr. Përndekali was saying, when he was propagandizing the police difficulties? Who politicized them? It is clear!
The police is the state. The Internal Minister, Mr. Fatos Nano, and the PS parliament are responsible for the police’s military organization. But they must do it better and with responsibility.
On 26 March 1992, the PS issued an ultimatum for the removal of Abedin Shehu. On 28 March 1992, those who fanned the unrest and exploited it for political purposes went to Fushë-Krujë “to help.”
Today they continue the same policy. They seek to protect the incompetent and shift the blame onto the institutions. This is unforgivable.

A new concept of party work
From the meeting of the steering committee of the PS of Laç
The steering committee of the PS of the Laç district met yesterday to discuss the documents received from the center regarding the decisions of the Second Congress and the tasks arising for the organization. The need for deeper work with the grassroots, the expansion of influence into new social environments, and closer contact with people’s concrete problems was stressed.
In the discussions it was said that it is not enough merely to analyze the situation; the responsibilities of the structures must also be defined clearly. Relations with the electorate were discussed, along with the need for a more organized activity and the involvement of young people.
A special place was given to examining economic problems and their impact on the social condition of the population. It was requested that the party come forward with clearer positions and concrete alternatives.
