ONCE AGAIN:
FOR THE GOVERNMENT THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY: RESIGNATION
- We are the only country in the world that has a government without a program
- The sooner the incompetent and corrupt people leave the country's leadership, the better it will be for the people
If we continue like this for much longer, discontent among the masses will grow. This time it appears as murmuring, but if the country's economic situation continues in this dire state, it may certainly erupt forcefully. The whole burden of the blame and all the responsibilities for this fall on the government, because the country itself no longer incurred costs. That is why it increasingly believes in economic growth with a stroke of the pen and in the market's miraculous actions. The latter are empty hopes that time has disproved. We say once again, forcefully, that if the government does not urgently come to its senses and abandon its unreasonable actions, then there can be no political calm in the country. What is needed is a government with a clear program and a clear idea of what it wants to do with the people and the country's economy. This government came to power without a program. On the other hand, it has shown all too well that it does not know how to govern. The sooner the incompetent and corrupt people leave the country's leadership, the better it will be for the people. People's concern is great and grows every day. The market is not bringing miracles; on the contrary, it is making life more expensive for people. The countryside is getting nothing in return for its effort. The city is feeling the lack of work, the decline in production, and insecurity. If this mentality continues, the country will go into an even deeper crisis. The government must go.
ATTACK ON THE PLURALIST SYSTEM DECLARATION
ATTACK ON THE PLURALIST SYSTEM
Declaration
Of the Presidium of the Socialist Party of Albania
To the public, which is still shaken by the recent events in parliament, the draft of the “Manifesto” of the “Forum for Democracy”, prepared by Prof. Alfred Uçi, has been put forward for discussion; it has been regarded as the “most important and programmatic document” of the PSP. Together with this document, the newspaper “Republika” also published the letter from the lecturers of the Faculty of Social Sciences addressed to the President of the Republic, in which the reforms and the present government are condemned. We emphasize that the Presidium of the PSP considers this publication and this letter to be the private positions of their authors and not official documents or positions of the PSP. The Socialist Party of Albania is committed to the path of parliamentary democracy, reforms, and the rule of law. It is against any attempt to destabilize the country, to attack political pluralism, and to bring about political adventures. The PSP condemns any attack on the pluralist system and supports the strengthening of democratic institutions.

GENC RULI IN THE COURTROOM
He has been sentenced to 3 years in prison. However, in yesterday's hearing of the trial against the former Minister of Finance, Genc Ruli, he rejected the charges and declared that the decisions had been taken in accordance with the law and with the difficult conditions of the transition. The prosecution requested a severe sentence, accusing him of abuse of office and violations of financial procedures. The defense objected, saying that the trial had political overtones. The hearing was held in a tense atmosphere. The court is expected to issue the full verdict in the coming days.

Yesterday at 12:00, the Confederation of Trade Unions of Albania held a meeting, where the country's economic and social situation was discussed and a change in the government's course was demanded. Trade union representatives stated that wages do not cover prices, unemployment is rising, and enterprises are closing. The need for social dialogue, protection of workers' rights, and concrete measures to revive production was emphasized. According to the participants, the government must take responsibility for the situation created and listen to the voice of the needy sectors.
