THE POLICE STATE OF THE PD CLASHES WITH THE WET PEOPLE
The court farce continues for the third day in a row in order to force the innocent and the unlawfully guilty to be brought out - All day long the protest and organized revolt of the masked inhuman people of Durrës, those who were masked, injured people and who no longer want to endure violence and dictatorship! - writes the father of the victim to the President of the Republic
18 June marks the 12 months of the government and of the PD. The many accusations made against it, after a year in office, are not deflecting attention from the real problems, from the need to live in more humane conditions. At the center of public opinion's attention remains the trial of the young people for the事件 of 13 June in neighborhood no. 18 of Durrës.
On Monday the third day of this trial was completed. In the courtroom and outside it, protests and cries against police violence, against the manipulation of justice and against the attempt to leave the real perpetrators of the beating of the young people unpunished have continued.
In the latest hearings, new testimonies have been heard which, according to the victim's family members and relatives, shed light on how the events unfolded and who instigated them. Several people in civilian clothes and others in uniform have been mentioned as having struck and injured young people.
The victim's father has addressed a letter to the President of the Republic, asking for intervention to stop the judicial farce and to guarantee a full and impartial investigation. In the letter, he expresses the outrage of a family that has lost its son and cannot accept that the truth be covered up by fear and violence.
The protesters in Durrës, supported also by other citizens, have declared that they will not remain silent in the face of police arbitrariness. They demand the full clarification of the event, the punishment of those responsible and an end to pressure on witnesses.
Public opinion is increasingly convinced that the trial is being used to hide the real perpetrators and to frighten those who seek justice. This conviction is also fueled by the way the process has been organized and by the large presence of police forces.
In Durrës and beyond, people speak of a climate of violence and intimidation that cannot be allowed to become normal. Instead of a rule-of-law state, it is said that a police state is emerging, seeking to impose silence through pressure.
