- This clearly shows that day by day he is making more concessions to the extremist-Ballist wing in the PD. Could he be repaying some debt? - Recently it went along and made 109 changes to the constitutional draft and, although this work is dragging on, he nevertheless took his initiative, trying to pass in silence and without fuss the law on the return of properties, about which it was said quite unequivocally in this matter that there would be broad and serious discussion. A few random statements were made by some deputy and that was all. This law has cost the Albanian economy dearly and is bringing consequences with which the state will have a lot of trouble from every point of view. Here it is not a matter of correcting the injustices of the past, which is a different issue. It is a matter of how it is being used today, for political gain and to strike at the productive economy. The seizure of property, especially in the countryside, is causing division and conflict. There are many complaints raised by working people, by cooperativists and former small owners, who are seeing everything going in favor of a minority tied to power. This initiative has nothing in common with a fair reform. It is being carried out hastily, without analysis, without transparency and with a spirit of political revenge. This also explains the president's rush to sign the law immediately. The Democratic Party and its government are hurrying to present this action as historical justice, but in fact they are opening new wounds. Is this not also a signal to the more right-wing forces within it? Are we not dealing with serious concessions to the extremist-Ballist wing? If this law is implemented in this way, the consequences will be severe for the economy, for social peace and for the state itself. Some 200 small businesses and nearly 1,200 craftsmen so far, as the American government is helping with loans in our country, 1,200 families are securing 2,000 jobs from this roughly 3 million-dollar aid. And the official in charge of these loans, Mr. Aleksi, sits around making things up and dealing with documents for the loans that will be granted. As if he gave them out of his own pocket? Another important issue, apparently, has to do with the employment office and the scandal of food aid arriving from abroad. 11. The state has taken and continues to take large loans and aid. The representation of the association of former "owners" of shipping received with concern the failure to sign the provisions that would return them steamships, fishing vessels, yachts, etc. For its part, a delegation of the association has recently presented this problem to the President and requested from him a fair stance. Indeed, another important issue that emerges and will receive an answer in the work that will be carried out by the International Temporary Committee for Emigration and the Albanian Cultural Association in Modena is the growth of cultural activity between them and our country.
