Mr. P. Tima has written a letter by means of which he addresses the President,
parliament, the government, the People's
Advocate[?], as well as the prosecution and police authorities, in which he denounced[?] a number of abuses being committed with the city's social housing. The privatization bureau and the District Council knew his name and responded with false slander and insults. Humiliated, assaulted, and under threat, they did not back down.
Aferida Zevë, and Afërdita Vioni, the sister of Filimi took over the city radio station's warehouse. Nearly 2.8 million new lek are being stolen from the people solely through the sale price of the warehouses.
Zenufi Tima has written to the state authorities denouncing[?] that since 1993 illegal actions have been taking place involving the city's social housing. Instead of the guilty being punished, he became the target of attacks and threats. This concerns apartments illegally occupied by officials of the BSHP, by deputy Z. 1993[?], by municipal officials, etc. Along with this, the rental registers and house allocation documents have also been manipulated.
The state loses considerable revenue from unpaid rent. On the other hand, the housing office has carried out illegal privatizations of apartments that should not have been transferred into private ownership. Very large damages have been calculated to the detriment of the citizens of Berat.
This network includes names of local officials, former BSHP functionaries, as well as beneficiaries linked to them. Citizens are demanding an investigation and punishment. According to them, the prosecution and the police have remained passive. This issue has become a symbol of local corruption.

The Socialist Group votes against
the president's decree on
changing the government
The presidency of the Socialist parliamentary group declared yesterday that its deputies will vote against the president's decree on changes in the government. In a press statement it is said that the president is interfering in the powers of parliament and is undermining the principle of the separation of powers.
According to this position, the movement of ministers and the proposed replacements are not based on transparency and do not serve the resolution of the economic and social crisis. The Socialists called for an open parliamentary debate and fuller information for the public.
The statement says that the opposition will continue to demand political responsibility from the government for poverty, unemployment, and the worsening of public order.

In the season of spectacle[?], when such testimonies come to light, we intend to give them the place they deserve. The concern lies not only with the names, but with what has happened and continues to happen in the city. Below are published testimonies, comments, and positions of citizens on the conduct of the public order authorities.
The city's courier[?] says that every limit of reason is being crossed. Cases were denounced in which, during protests and various gatherings, pressure, detentions, and threats were used against citizens. According to one complaint, the chief of public order, Mylimerem No. Kes, has abused his office and allowed arbitrary actions against several residents.
In a letter signed by residents of different neighborhoods, the opening of criminal proceedings against him is requested. The letter has been addressed to the prosecution and the other relevant authorities. The residents state that their rights have been violated and that the local police have acted with double standards.
The article also includes short interviews with citizens, who recount how they were summoned to the police station, held without reason, and insulted. There are also cases where their family members were placed under pressure. In the end, transparency and punishment of those responsible are demanded.
Along with these, an opinion piece is also published that criticizes the silence of local institutions and calls on justice to act.
