A large rally of the Socialist Party at Vlorë’s “Flamurtari” stadium
Attended by PS chairman Fatos Nano and MPs Sabit Brokaj, Ethem Ruka, Emiljand Aleksi, Andis Harasani[?], Vangjel Nushi, Doke Gjomoz[?], Ruçi, Kastriot Islami, Sobri Bektashi[?], Pëllumb Xhufi, Ylli Bufi[?], Gramoz Pashko[?].
By supporting the Socialist Party, the people of Vlorë expressed their strong protest against violence and political revanchism. Against the government of the craftsmen[?] and the democratic governing[?] of the PD.
Despite the pressure and widespread violence of the same police, the people present in the sidhi[?] numbered in the thousands and there were several street provocateurs[?] shouting, you are freed by police and attacked them with kindness.
On our side of the podium were the speakers, participants in the gathering and other personalities. At the large rally spoke the chairman of the Socialist Party, Mr. Fatos Nano, and representatives of the socialist electorate.
In his speech before those present, the Socialist Party leader Fatos Nano, after greeting the participants with respect, presented the arrival of representatives of his party in Vlorë, which turned the day into a truly festive one. Speaking about the Albanian people and the serious economic and political situation in which the country finds itself, Mr. Nano said that “a handful of people, with their anti-national and anti-civic philosophy, are leading the country toward the abyss.” According to him, Albania is being governed by police orders and not by law.
He then denounced police violence and the efforts to intimidate the socialist electorate, stressing that the people of Vlorë “have given proof of their dignity and civility.” He went on to say that the PS will continue to be the main opposition force and that through free voting it will bring democratic change.
The rally also addressed unemployment, poverty, rising prices, human rights violations, and the need to unite all socialists and progressives. Participants chanted slogans in support of the Socialist Party and against the government.

Statement by the leadership of the Socialist Party of Gjirokastër
The entire public opinion of Gjirokastër and Albania followed with concern the escalation of the revolt of the citizens of Tepelenë against the scandalous withdrawal of the decision of the Municipal Council to limit the import of other waste from Greece. The position of the court and the prosecutor’s office, in our view, constitutes a serious act that undermines the interests of citizens and encourages destabilization.
The leadership of the Socialist Party in the district expresses solidarity with the people of Tepelenë and condemns the violence used by police organs against the citizens. We demand a full investigation into the events and that those responsible for the violence be brought to account. We are against attempts to manipulate the civic protest and present it as anti-state activity.
The Socialist Party believes that social and economic problems are not solved through repression, but through dialogue and respect for the law. We call on all political forces and state institutions to show restraint and responsibility.

Speak with your real name!
For more than a year we have been following a polemic in our media. Dr. Sadiq Musti, for example, has turned into a pseudonym. On the contrary, public activity requires clarity and responsibility. We believe that everyone should speak with their real name, so that the seriousness of the debate is not lost. (To be continued on page 4)
Mr. Resishti[?]
Since the first action of our government to bring public finances under control and curb abuses, certain circles have launched a vicious campaign of slander. Time will show who is right. We remain convinced that the country needs calm, work, and respect for the law.
