Ebullition of the tender-hearted spirit of the people of Pogradec!
- Reportage on the farewell of more than 10,000 people, covered with candles and flowers, to the Pogradec resident. Also present were the Chairman of the Socialist Party, Fatos Nano, together with MPs Namik Dokle, Server Pëllumbi, Bufi, Bardhosh Anxheli.
- Once again, a massive send-off for Pëllumb Sërvani.

BREAD CRIES".
They had come out early from their homes, from workplaces and from education facilities to give the last farewell to the former head of public order and the successful leader of the Socialist Party in the city of Pogradec, who was murdered in broad daylight on Saturday afternoon. It was a funeral procession rarely seen in Pogradec. More than 10,000 people, covered with candles, flowers and waves of sorrow and tears, gave their final farewell to their loved one, Pëllumb Sërvani, so as never to forget him. They not only honored him, but by raising banners and slogans that showed the deep anger and bitterness of the people of Pogradec, they protested calmly before the grave events that shook the peace of the lakeside city.
On the upper steps of the entrance to the multi-storey building in the center of Pogradec, the lifeless body of Pëllumb Sërvani had been placed amid hundreds of lit candles, wreaths and flowers, and the tears of hundreds of women, mothers and relatives. A heavy silence covered everything, and only occasionally, amid tears, painful and chilling cries rose up: “Pëllumb, Pëllumb!”.
Meanwhile, the arrival of the funeral vehicle caused a general movement. People gathered like a living wall to pay their final respects. A deep silence, accompanied by tears and anger, marked the moment when the coffin with his body was placed to be taken to its final resting place.
The many citizens gathered in the square and in the surrounding streets held banners that clearly expressed their bitterness against violence, insecurity and injustice. In this great sorrow, civic solidarity also emerged, a rare unity of ordinary people, workers, women, young people and the elderly.
The ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of the Socialist Party Fatos Nano, as well as MPs Namik Dokle, Server Pëllumbi, Bufi, Bardhosh Anxheli. Their presence gave the event an even greater dimension and expressed political and human support for the family and for the city.
Once again, a massive send-off for Pëllumb Sërvani.
The Socialist Party of Albania greets the Spanish Socialist achievement
The Socialist Party of Albania warmly welcomes the result of the 6 June elections in Spain won by the socialist forces led by Felipe Gonzales and by the Socialist Party of Catalonia, which secured 159 seats in the 350-seat parliament. The success of the right-wing opposition with 141 seats represents a new political force for Spain that must be acknowledged. In this delicate phase of the Spanish transition, the strength of the socialist left has a particular importance for political balance and for the continuation of social reforms. The Socialist Party of Albania values the important role of Spanish socialists in the democratic development of the country and in the efforts toward European integration.

A victory for the Spanish Socialists after a period of setbacks
MADRID
More to the right, Spain’s Socialist force, led by Felipe Gonzales, won Sunday’s elections, although the 159 seats won in parliament are 16 fewer than the result of 1989.
On the other hand, for the first time the Socialists failed to retain the absolute majority they had from 1982 to 1989. Their victory was determined by 38.8 percent of the vote against 34.8 percent obtained by the leader of the Popular Party, Jose Maria Aznar, who with 141 seats has won 34 more than in the previous elections. As in every case, the Socialist victories were helped by Paskual Maragall, mayor of Barcelona and chairman of the Socialist Party of Catalonia, whose force won 18 seats, up from 13 in the previous elections. The victory of the Spanish Socialists comes at a difficult moment for the country’s economy, with more than three million unemployed and with doubts and questions about the corruption scandals. From Madrid, foreign correspondents described the result as a narrow but significant victory.
Nano’s speech:
An honest Albania of intellectuals, the working class and the peasantry deserves a better life. Today, the country is in a deep economic and social crisis. The current power has not brought the promised development, but poverty, insecurity and division. The socialists of Albania are determined to defend the interests of workers, pensioners, youth and all those who seek social justice, freedom and true democracy. We will not allow the use of violence as a political tool, nor the suppression of the opposition. Albania needs dialogue, tolerance and a government that serves the people. Only with broad citizen participation and national solidarity can we overcome this grave situation and build a better future for the country.
Sërvol Pëllumbi:
The political murder committed yesterday in Pogradec is a serious criminal and political act that must be fully exposed. The climate of hatred, tension and insecurity nurtured for months cannot but produce such tragic consequences. We call for calm, but at the same time we demand that the state fulfill its legal obligations to guarantee life and public order. If these acts go unpunished, the country risks sliding into chaos and arbitrariness. Citizens deserve security and justice.
The government in Gjirokastër and the sale of bread in Derviçan
ARGJIROKASTRITI
-A measure in a solution for buying bakery bread, encountered? The Albanians of Derviçan protested.
-Meanwhile, for the freshly baked bread? the residents of the city are not being supplied normally.
What is happening with bread supply in this area has caused many reactions. Residents complain about shortages, long lines and high prices, while local authorities give unclear explanations. The situation in Derviçan has become a symbol of the daily hardships the population is going through.
The alternative of early elections is inevitable
Conversation with a science professional [?], lecturer at the University of Tirana, Mr. Rexhep Meidani [?].
I believe that the profession [?] valued by politics, the chosen development, includes broad layers of the population. There can be no lasting solution without restoring trust in institutions and without a new civic mandate. In conditions where the economic and social crisis is deepening, early elections present themselves as an inevitable alternative to restore political legitimacy. This also requires a renewed commitment from the opposition forces to present a clear, realistic and convincing program. Only in this way can the escalation of political conflict be avoided and the path to democratic stability opened.
The President decorated the flag
The President of the Republic decorated the flag of a military unit with the relevant order. In the ceremony held on this occasion, the contribution made to the preservation of order, sovereignty and constitutional duties was recognized. Representatives of the institutions and the army took part in the event.
Namik Dokle:
The Albanian parliament has exhausted the sovereignty of its majority. Instead of being an institution that represents the free will of citizens, it is increasingly turning into a mechanism that blindly approves every decision of the authorities. The parliamentary opposition faces obstacles every day, restrictions on speech and arbitrary exclusions. There can be no democracy without respect for minority rights and without parliamentary control over the government. The crisis of confidence in institutions is a direct consequence of this authoritarian behavior. Albania needs an open, pluralist and functional parliament.
