PD revanchists provoke and incite fratricide
On Friday evening, in the center of Shkodër, there was a very serious and highly dangerous situation. According to the initial confirmations from official institutions and eyewitnesses, a group of individuals, supported and directed by PD figures, had been organized for violent acts. They tried to provoke clashes and bloodshed, setting the citizens of Shkodër against one another.
The event has caused a broad reaction in public opinion. Many citizens have condemned it as an irresponsible and dangerous act, which serves neither democracy nor the city of Shkodër. Instead of political debate and civic discussion, the organizers chose pressure, intimidation, and an escalation of conflict.
According to initial assessments, the aim was to create a climate of political terror in order to conceal the deep political failure of PD and the loss of popular support. No police action, no artificially stirred tension, can save it from political responsibility.
Democratic forces and various commentators have called for calm, restraint, and the preservation of public order, stressing that Shkodër must not be used as a stage for political adventures.

PD revanchists provoke fratricide
On Friday, throughout the country, and especially in Shkodër, amid a series of politically prepared circumstances, new attempts at destabilization appeared once again. Law-enforcement bodies and many citizens reported organized movements and open calls for confrontation.
Citizens of Shkodër, reacting to the situation, declared that violence does not represent the civic tradition of this city and that those who incite it bear full responsibility.

A group of PS deputies meets with President Berisha
Yesterday evening, a group of deputies from the Socialist Party held a meeting with the President of the Republic, Sali Berisha. At the center of the conversation were the latest political developments and the tension created after the events in Shkodër.
The PS representatives expressed concern about the heated political climate and the use of state structures in the service of political pressure. They called for respect for the law and for the guarantee of civic rights.
The President listened to the deputies’ assessments and spoke of the need to preserve order and institutional stability.

THE SCENARIO OF 18 JUNE WAS ORGANIZED BY THOSE WHO ORGANIZED 2 APRIL
As a sign of deep anger over the organization of the events of 18 June 1993 by the senior leaders of the Democratic Party, many protesters gathered to condemn the destabilizing acts.
Those present linked this scenario to that of 2 April, accusing the organizers of using the same methods of political tension and manipulation of public opinion.
In their statements, political and legal responsibility was demanded for the instigators of violence.
