THE SOCIALIST PARTY'S POSITION ON THE NATIONAL QUESTION IS CLEARLY RIGHT
- Response to President Berisha -
Regarding the theses of this political organ of Kosovo, Mr. Berisha publicly expresses his disagreement with the position of the Socialist Party of Albania on the Kosovo issue and beyond, which had been publicly highlighted these days by the rhetoric set out before the PASHQ demonstrations.

To the above developments, which cannot be denied, is added the fact of the use of state force against the opposition, including the hunger strike and the peaceful gatherings.
In this context, the Socialist Party has declared that the path to resolving the national question must be based on democratic principles, respect for human rights, and political dialogue.
Our stance is neither closed nor adventurous; it remains open to any peaceful and national solution that serves the interests of the Albanian people.
DO NOT INSULT SHKODRA, MR. PRESIDENT
If you start digging up documents and odds and ends, you don’t need them to understand how unfair the way Shkodër was spoken about really was. In that city with great patriotic and democratic traditions, insulting words cannot replace dialogue with the citizens.
Instead of showing respect for Shkodër and its people, harsh language was used, language unworthy of a president.
Shkodër does not deserve to be insulted. It has been and remains one of the liveliest centers of political and civic life in the country.
The Socialist Party in Shkodër calls for criminal prosecution of the authors of the illegal rally
DISTRICT PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE
To the General Prosecutor
To the Mayor
Any written or spoken statement organized in Shkodër, on 1 July 1993, we understand as an illegal gathering that violated public order and civic peace.
On 15 June, by the structures of the Democratic Party and the local administration, repeated calls were made for gatherings and demonstrations of a political nature, in violation of the relevant legal provisions.
The rally held in the city's public spaces was accompanied by insulting speeches, incitement against the opposition, and pressure on the institutions.
For these reasons we request the initiation of criminal proceedings against the organizers and authors of this illegal rally.
We also request measures to be taken to guarantee constitutional order and the political rights of all citizens.
Shkodër, 2 July 1993
ASIM SHKODRANI
The Socialist councillors of the district and municipality of Shkodër request a meeting with President Berisha
To the Head of the Albanian State, Mr. Sali Berisha
Mr. President!
Having read and heard these days your attacks against the SP, the opposition and the progressive forces of Shkodër, we, the elected representatives of the people of this district and municipality, feel offended by the harsh language and the unfounded accusations.
Shkodër has a well-known democratic and civic history. Its citizens cannot be labelled as enemies because of their political convictions.
We request an open meeting with you, so that positions can be clarified publicly and unnecessary tensions avoided.
