Italian MPs and MP Fatos Nano

For several days now, Italian television has been extensively covering the hearings of the trials of several Italian MPs and senators accused in scandals in that country. Alongside Martelli, Bossi, etc., a parliamentarian has been mentioned, but without the title of deputy or senator. Anyone who watched a program on Rai Due 3-4 days ago will surely have noticed how prosecutor Di Pietro addressed Bossi: “Honourable senator.” And after the hearing, Bossi had a meeting with the prime minister to discuss the date of the next elections. Why did I bring this example here? I brought it to compare ourselves with a part of calm Europe, Italy, and only in one respect, that of justice? And what has been happening here for 5 months with the arrest of the Socialist Party chairman, MP Fatos Nano? Dozens of legal violations, dozens of anti-democratic actions, the total denial even of those rights that prison regulations grant, with Sheme[r]met Nano in the role of the guilty, is treated as an ordinary criminal. An RD and a columnist “specialized” in the fight against Nano with insults, slander, stock phrases, and offensive speculation, using street-level language in Saturday’s issue. The columnist in yesterday’s issue of RD even deals with... matters of “latrines,” as he himself puts it; it is enough to read his name at the end to avoid reading the article. And this is the newspaper of the ruling party, of that power and of that President who says that justice is none of our business, that it is independent. And the insults and slander continue, and Fatos Nano, an MP, is kept locked up in irons without his guilt being proven. And not only him. The ruling party also pulls the strings of the state television. And we say we want to go to Europe. Whether we want it or not? Want our condemnations and notes? Here is what Article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights says: “Everyone charged with an offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.” That is European law, the one to which we want to go. But who in Albania will know? Fatos Nano, before even going to trial, before being declared guilty or not guilty, is labeled a thief, criminal, swindler, pickpocket, smuggler, murderer, anti-national, and who knows what other filthy creature. Words are spoken and you rejoice, and you tell Torkie softly: This is why Fatos Nano is guilty! And what happens? There is silence from those who should speak, from the representatives of justice. But they seem not to hear, or not to read, or they are afraid. It seems the press law in Albania is only for the opposition. Several times Fatos Nano has asked to meet with the prosecutor general. He does not go! Why? Is he afraid to talk, or have they told him: don't go!? Where in Europe, to which we want to go, does this happen? The prosecutor asks only the law, respects only the law, bows only to the law, fears only the law. I mean the prosecutor of Europe... That is why I compared the Italian MPs and the judicial senate broadcast by RAI with MP Fatos Nano, the leader of the Socialist Party, who is kept in prison without knowing why (only those who imprisoned him know), and who is called guilty whenever RD and those who lead that state want it, making a very small comparison with Europe, to which we want to go, but with one of its most important aspects. In court, Di Pietro says to Bossi, the accused: “Honourable senator,” while the Albanian RD says to Fatos Nano, MP: “Thief!” Of millions, without ever saying, as one is addressed, whether in power or not, that he is not even called by title because he is independent! And from there we will learn how to go to Europe. K. T.

The calendar of the Democratic Party's rule WHO IS THE "TOP MODEL" OF THE PARADE OF SCANDALS?

The calendar of the Democratic Party's rule WHO IS THE "TOP MODEL" OF THE PARADE OF SCANDALS? From 22 March to 22 March 647 days have passed since 22 March, the victory of the PD, and conditioned by this victory, Albania has had only victories, victories, victories! 647 days that will occupy a special place in Albanian history, 647 days when people have been “more smiling,” breathed more freely, and the air has been freer. There are still 813 more days left for the PD's rule, and conditioned by the unsurpassed victory, only victories await us. Starting from the desire to be constructive and happy with the victories made possible by the Press Law (also a victory), we are making a parade of the victories achieved during the 647 days of the rule of the PD government and Parliament, with the aim of identifying the “Top Model” of victories. 1. 1 May 1992. The Albanian Parliament, with the votes of the majority, approves an addition to the law on “Labor Relations,” which gives the employee the economic right to choose freely. This line of thought, in conscience, belief, freedom and CSCE, in the movement proclaimed by the CSCE in the Paris Charter, places the individual under pressure and the continuity with dismissals, establishing anti-democratic relations between them. 4 May. Murder at the tombs of the nation’s martyrs. Among the victims are the Heroes of the People: Myslym Peza, Hysni Kapo, Gogo Nushi, Spiro Moisiu, Josif Pashko, Medar Shtylla, Omer Nishani, Alqi Kodra, Nako Spiru, Kahreman Ylli, Todo Mano. 19 May 1992. The newspaper "Albania" is shut down, after an unprecedented criminal record characterized by the figures for March: 74 victims, 39 murders, 59 injuries, 10 deaths in early April, 13 murders, 20 injuries, and followed by June 2 with deaths, among them a 7-month-old child. 15 June 1992. The Albanian Votegjet adopted in scandal is made public, involved in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For a bluff, if you are left with something, it is truly a victory. 26 June 1992. The PD demands accountability from the PD group of Gremo? Pashko, who would declare that Albania is knocking on the door of the former dictatorship. 26 June 1992. The majority approves a paragraph that takes from citizens their excess areas, thereby denying them the right to complain before judicial bodies. 2 July 1992. The majority approves the Law on Social Assistance. Its effect: 283 thousand people on assistance. 4 July 1992. Housing prices are doubled by parliamentary decision. 6 July 1992. Nikolla Ardis Ardis? Leoren Simoni, French citizen, gives President Berisha the decoration of the Order of French Pride. 6 July 1992. Attempted exodus of thousands of young Albanians at the embassies and the Port of Durrës. 21 July 1992, in Tirana and Durrës, citizens' homes are unlawfully raided, an operation led by the then Minister of Order. 1 August 1992, the price of bread reaches 26 lek. 16 August 1992. Protest by the Prosecutor General of Albania, Mr. Maks Haxhia, against the Chairman of the State Control, Blerim Çela, regarding a protest that conditioned the fate of the Prosecutor General's support, removal from office, trial, and a fine of 10,000 lek. 16 August 1992. The basket of goods has the following figures: 600 g sugar, 700 g oil, 350 g soap, 500 g pasta. 26 August 1992. Protest in Poligan. Clashes between the population and large police forces, 17 injured, 5 children, organizers of the operation flying by helicopter. The 23-year-old deputy Meta is accused of being a bandit and terrorist. 4 September 1992. Deputy Teodor Keko leaves the PD parliamentary group. 17 September 1992. The SHIK scandal is made public in Parliament; Bashkim Gazidede makes the accusation made by Luan Përbashi that he asked for data to compromise several opposition deputies and opponents of the PD as collaborators of the State Security. 18 September 1993. Prosecutor General Maks Haxhia is removed from the post of Prosecutor General by parliamentary decision. The action was considered unconstitutional. 1 October 1993. Luzni: Around 20 new PS members admitted

Luzni Around 20 new PS members admitted In the blue literature, Luznia falls behind as one of the PD's historic victories. September 12, '93 confirmed, on the broad blue front, the downfall of the party breeze in power in the Dibra Mountains. Promises, threats, deceptions, violence, and the nuclei of intimidation produced their effect. Not even four months have passed, and Luznia is now presenting itself with the rapid growth of PS ranks, with others around it. In Luzni, in recent times, 20 new members have been admitted into the PS, and 30 others have applied to join. The significance of these admissions is made up of the new generation, young boys with schooling. The increase in PS ranks in Luzni is being greatly helped by the PD itself. The dirty rags it handed out during the election campaign, loaded with the weight of four IAs, have been used up and the promises were left unfulfilled. As a result, the PS ranks have grown as well with members leaving the PD. A. A

BALLSH Three killed and one injured

BALLSH Three killed and one injured On 5 January 1994, around 4:00 p.m. on the Ballsh-Patos road, a serious traffic accident occurred. While overtaking, a car with Tirana license plates turned and crashed into an oil tanker with Mallakastër license plates; as a result, three people were killed and a 17-year-old young man was seriously injured. The injured man was immediately taken to the hospital in the city of Fier, where he is still in very serious condition. Immediately after this shocking घटना, the road traffic authorities from the Mallakastër and Fier districts came to carry out an investigation of the incident. The blockage caused by the vehicles led to the national road being closed for about two hours. After the clarification and on-site investigation, everything calmed down. MIKEL TREBESHINA

A person has disappeared

It has been five days since former officer Kujtim Dh[?]a, once a resident of Korçë, affected by the reform in the army, has disappeared. After being placed in reserve, he began to deal with currency exchange. He has disappeared from the home of his father Viktor Xallmi, to whom he had given, as it is said, around 5 million drachmas. And from that moment on, the two of them, together with the lawyer for this debt, have not been seen. His family is calling the police, but it replies that there is no sign of an accident or murder. The investigator, who took on this case, is dropping it on the pretext that Xallmi ran away. This man has been missing for five days, an only son, raised as an orphan, father of three daughters. The bank has still not started work

The National Commercial Bank has still not started work for the days of 1994. At present, these days it is occupied with closing the books for 1993. Yesterday, private clients who want to begin economic activity cannot do anything because the bank does not process matters before 11.1.1994. Private clients who have not been given economic support, despite the difficult transitional conditions, must wait because even though they can submit payment orders at the bank counters, the bank itself takes no action on their respective accounts. The bank carries on as if, apparently, no one can tell it anything. The year must be closed, but a more efficient organization should also have been found. D. K.

Scientific session: 50th anniversary of the Bujan Conference

SCIENTIFIC SESSION: 50th anniversary of the Bujan Conference Yesterday morning, in the lecture hall of the National Historical Museum, the Institute of History of Prishtina and the Institute of History of Tirana organized a jubilee scientific session on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Bujan Conference. Historians, researchers, veterans, members of governments, and deputies took part. To participate in the session, the Speaker of the People's Assembly, Mr. Pjetër Arbnori, had also come. The historians and researchers from Kosovo who were expected for this event were unable to take part because they were not allowed to come by the Serbian police. A telegram sent by the President of Kosovo, Dr. Rugova, was read, in which it was emphasized that its commemoration calls for a new unification of the Albanian people. The papers presented by the historians in attendance addressed the legal and political aspects of the Conference's decisions, its connection to the Mukje Agreement and the Second League of Prizren. Then the contribution of the Gjakova war in the National Liberation War was discussed, the repelling of the winter offensive in 1944, and the political influence of the Conference's decisions on the movement for the Republic of Kosovo. Discussions were also held on the reports and papers. Correspondent of "Zëri i Popullit"

A government order blocks passenger movement

It has been 5 days since the private bus lines for passenger transport from Tirana toward the districts of Korçë, Fier, Berat, Vlorë, Elbasan, Gjirokastër, etc., have not been operating. Because of this situation, tearful crowds have gathered near the "Dinamo" stadium, their departure point. The main reason was the protest of the owners, drivers and conductors of these vehicles against government Order no. dt. 17.08.1993 and the relevant instruction of the Ministry of Transport on limiting passenger transport companies, which they do not intend to compare with the former cooperatives, with the tendency to eliminate private enterprise. This also affects the intercity buses of Korçë, Pogradec, Gjirokastër and others, which for fewer days have interrupted trips to Tirana. They consider it wrong that Instruction 16 says so and impossible to implement. Nothing has been resolved even though their representatives have held contacts and meetings with senior officials of the Ministry of Transport. On Friday, on this occasion, the drivers, owners and conductors touched on the legal and political aspects of the decisions of the Conference, its connection to the Mukje Agreement and the Second League of Prizren [?] D.
