Real democratic reforms in Albania will triumph over yesterday's totalitarianism and today's BARAKTARIZM
(Greeting of the Chairman of the Socialist Party and MP FATOS NANO at the Second National Conference of the PSSh)
Brothers and sisters, delegates of the PSSh Conference!
Brothers and sisters, delegates of the PSSh!
Dear members and sympathizers of the PSSh, wherever you are, at home and abroad!
I cannot refrain from affirming with my unwavering conviction that the firm embrace of the path of democratic reforms has today made the PSSh powerful and politically authoritative, and has also significantly increased the Albanians' confidence in the future.
The people's disappointment, expressed in Sunday's electoral vote, is understandable under the conditions of an arrogant policy, unbearable and unacceptable to the majority. It is also a civic condemnation of the current government's inability to solve economic and social problems.
The PSSh, born of the historical need for change, is gaining more and more support every day because it is the political force that defends the interests of broad strata and of the country. We will continue to be committed to pluralism, the rule of law, and human rights.
The time has come for the left-wing alternative to be presented clearly, with courage and responsibility, before the citizens. Empty words, unfulfilled promises and forced propaganda cannot replace good governance, work, honesty and respect for the law.
In this framework, the PSSh must become a modern European party, with functional structures, transparency and a permanent connection with the citizen. Only in this way can we awaken hope and become a decisive factor in the country's stability and progress.
The duty of the political elite is to produce solutions, not conflicts; to create trust, not fear; to govern for everyone, not just for the minority. For this reason, we must be exemplary in the culture of debate, in tolerance and in respect for different opinions.
The Socialist Party will not be a hostage to nostalgia, nor to prejudices. It will move forward with a realistic, social and democratic program, serving the citizen and the national interest.
Albania needs a strong, wise and responsible opposition, just as it needs a government that listens. We believe that the future belongs to real reforms, strong institutions and civic participation.
This is our mission. This is our responsibility. And for this we will work with determination.
FATOS NANO
WE DO NOT BACK AWAY FROM THE RESPONSIBILITIES THAT BELONG TO US
Speech by the Deputy Chairman of the Socialist Party, NAMIK DOKLE
Ladies and gentlemen delegates, friends and comrades!
Are we today on an important day of the new stage through which our Party is passing? Yes, because at this conference we are analyzing an important political and organizational process that concerns its present and its future.
The experience of recent years has shown that true opposition is not built with shouts, curses or exclusions, but with ideas, programs and organization. The work of the Socialist Party must be based on direct contact with people, on listening to their concerns and on the ability to turn them into concrete policies.
We must not waver in the face of pressure, insults or provocations. On the contrary, we must show calm, maturity and responsibility. Our strength lies in our conviction about justice and democracy.
Albania is going through a difficult period of transformation. Precisely in these conditions, the Socialist Party has the duty to become the voice of the unprotected strata, of workers, intellectuals, youth and pensioners. We do not back away from the responsibilities that belong to us.
The Party must be more open, more disciplined, more organized and better able to win the trust of citizens. We must fight old mindsets, passivity and self-satisfaction.
Only in this way will we be able to build our credible alternative and move toward future victories.
NAMIK DOKLE
The educational system computerised, not spontaneity
Speech by the Deputy Chairman of the Socialist Party, LUAN HAXHADA
The analysis of the data so far, the discussions held and the need for a functional reorganization show that political will alone is not enough. Method is needed, a system is needed, and clear responsibility is needed at every level.
If we want a serious alternative, it must be based on knowledge, professionalism and modern organization. The party structure cannot function through improvisation, but through rules, coordination and continuous oversight.
We have often seen that spontaneity produces disorderly movements and unstable results. By contrast, a system produces continuity, efficiency and the possibility to correct mistakes.
Therefore, I think our work should be based on planning, training and continuous evaluation. Only in this way will our organization be able to respond to the challenges of the time.
