TODAY ONCE AGAIN IN THE COURTROOM:
“The Nano file” still unopened...

“The Nano file” still
unopened...
Agrin Bendo has every opportunity to create the conditions for Fatos Nano
to speak.
He only needs to free himself from the shackles of orders, take the place of the presiding judge and, rather than joining the accusation, publicly demonstrate the grave procedural violations that were committed during the investigation.
IT IS NOT FATOS NANO WHO DOES NOT
SPEAK, BUT THE COURT THAT
DOES NOT WANT HIM TO SPEAK
- Interview with deputy Tehmi Abdi -
Question: How do you assess the court’s conduct regarding Fatos Nano’s absence from yesterday’s hearing in the Prosecutor’s Court?
- I say from the outset that the presentation of the members of the panel has been totally distorted. The way the hearing has been conducted, by denying the defendant’s rights in the most fundamental manner, the same rights with which he came to court. No regard at all for procedure and the signature by which they made the process possible. That attitude toward Nano is entirely beyond the law and, with an absurd and ridiculous decision, the right to take part in the courtroom was denied. On the other hand, it is known that the defendant had no obligation to hold the trial if he did not request this himself.
Question: You have stated that this process is political. Can you justify that?
- I have been and remain of the opinion that the trial against Fatos Nano is entirely politically motivated. This is confirmed by many signs. First, it was the government that took the initiative to replace the prosecutor, exerted numerous pressures and produced evidence in a one-sided way. All this in order to bring the case to a certain stage. The defense has been limited, while the court has maintained a completely biased position.
Question: And what about the stance of the presiding judge?
- He has behaved like a representative of the accusation, not like an impartial arbiter. He has rejected the most basic requests, repeatedly interrupted the defense, and has not created the conditions for the real exercise of the defendant’s rights. Instead of guaranteeing a proper legal process, he has become an obstacle to the truth.
Question: What do you expect from today’s hearing?
- If the law were respected, Fatos Nano should be in the courtroom and heard. The court has every opportunity to create the conditions for him to speak. But, unfortunately, it seems that it is not Fatos Nano who does not speak, but the court that does not want him to speak.

THE POLICE AID
WAS DESTINED
TO FAIL
STATEMENT
BY THE PRESIDENCY OF THE
SOCIALIST PARTY
The latest developments in Kosovo’s political situation once again brought the reaction and participation of Albanian political forces to the center of attention. As stated in reports from Kosovar and foreign agencies, Berisha’s government tried to exploit the presence of Serbian police and a tense situation in order to turn this event into a propagandistic display.
It sought to demonstrate the authority of the Albanian state and gain political points by sending police aid in a situation where real and serious coordination was lacking. Instead of consulting political and institutional actors and taking measured steps, a hasty and sensational action was encouraged.
The Presidency of the Socialist Party considers that this move was destined to fail. It did not serve either the national cause or the safety of citizens, but only an internal political rhetoric. Moreover, its failure gave Albania’s opponents the opportunity to feed suspicions and malicious interpretations.
In these circumstances, the Socialist Party expresses its concern and calls for issues of high national sensitivity not to be used for narrow party purposes.

Instead of ART, a vacuum cleaner?
If there are truly hands at work in it, now it is on the ANË front — the friend of the international day speaks through the operation. Albania is being transformed in a strange way even in culture. Instead of galleries, theaters and genuine institutions, strange experiments appear that confuse the public.
This is a short notice in ironic tones about a cultural activity and the way it is presented. The text is partly illegible in the image.

AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL CAMPAIGN IN THE ORGANS OF JUSTICE...
When does magazine “Z” end?
The government of the proceedings, 0.07.4[?]
The manner in which the court process has been conducted and the comments made about it show that unacceptable pressure is being exerted on the organs of justice. Instead of an institutional and measured stance, there is an organized propaganda campaign aimed at influencing decision-making.
This is a violation of constitutional principles and of the separation of powers. In the press, on broadcasts and in various statements, an artificial climate has been created to steer public opinion in only one direction.
This development raises the question: when does magazine “Z” end? In other words, when does this wave of directed commentary and this unacceptable interference in matters that should belong exclusively to justice stop?
