New early elections, the only way to break the political deadlock

It is by no means difficult to understand that the opposition in Albania, despite the narrow and limited resources it has at its disposal, is making serious efforts to break the completely abnormal political situation that has been created in the country through sustained peaceful and democratic pressure. This opposition, which with its determination is resisting the attempts of the government and the authorities to impose a climate of repression and violence on the country, is persistently seeking democratic political solutions. At the Corfu summit, the head of the Albanian delegation, Mr. Alfred Serreqi, said that Albania's main problem was the PD, which, by governing in an arrogant and absolutist manner, was leading the country into a real catastrophe. This statement, which sums up a reality felt by everyone, is by no means exaggerated. Only an irresponsible government can continue to behave as if nothing had happened after the political and moral failure it has suffered. The majority of opposition parties, independent intellectuals, social organizations and various segments of public opinion have repeatedly called for the only way out of the crisis to be the organization of new early elections. This demand does not come from a desire for destabilization, but from the need to give the country legitimate and acceptable governance. By clinging to empty formulas about stability, the government and the president are trying to hide the truth that the crisis is above all political and moral. In a country where the opposition is prevented from exercising its constitutional rights, where parliament is distorted by the imposition of the majority, where the administration is extreme politicized and where justice is seen as an instrument of pressure, there can be no real stability. There is only a false calm, which can be broken at any moment. Therefore, new early elections remain the only way to restore political normality, re-establish civic trust and bring the country out of a conflict spiral that is increasingly isolating Albania. Bandits in police uniforms stole my car

I, who am writing this, am an ordinary citizen from the north. A few days ago I was with my family on the Tirana-Durrës road when I was suddenly stopped by several people wearing police uniforms. They ordered me to get out of the car and, without giving me any explanation, took my vehicle. At first I thought it was a routine check, but very soon I realized that this was a well-organized robbery. They threatened me not to move, while one of them took the keys and drove off with my car. The others remained for a few moments, as if they were covering up their operation, and then disappeared. I reported the incident to the police station, but so far no one has given me any clear answer. It is frightening to think that such gangs can use state uniforms to commit crimes against citizens. I am writing this letter so that public opinion knows what is happening and so that the responsible authorities react before it is too late. VEQIE META

Humanitarian aid or military emergency?

Faced with the shocking images coming from Bosnia, European public opinion has once again been confronted with the question of whether international intervention should be limited to humanitarian aid or take on a clearly military character. After many months of hesitation, the Western powers seem to be wavering between two approaches: maintaining a symbolic presence and using force to impose safe corridors and protect the civilian population. But every further delay leaves room for the tragedy to spread. If the international community continues to speak with a double tongue, humanitarian aid risks becoming an alibi for inaction. On the other hand, a military emergency without a clear objective may bring unforeseeable consequences. AREN OSMANI

Only during the day are there water sources with great difficulties Faced with the lack of normal supply of drinking water, various residents are forced to secure water even from distant areas. The situation has become paradoxical to the point that it is mentioned that water is also brought from Velipoja for needs in Shkodër. Citizens complain about long interruptions, poor service quality and a total lack of investment in the network. According to them, the problem is especially worse in the warm season. Local institutions give unclear explanations, while the situation continues to remain alarming. A. Ç.
