Socialists table a motion of no confidence against Prime Minister Meksi and his government
- Meksi is accused of failing to ensure constitutional order, and is inclined to protect his own poverty, involved in crime
- The Albanian Parliament faces the choice of handing criminals over to the organs of justice, or giving a vote of confidence to “Meksi’s government!”
In yesterday’s interpellation with Prime Minister Aleksandër Meksi, the parliamentary group of the SP also submitted the motion of no confidence in the government headed by him. The SP presented this constitutional initiative one day before that interpellation was held, where, as several Socialist deputies stated, “Instead of answering for the decision that led to the killing of an innocent man and the wounding of others, Prime Minister Meksi, through his irresponsibility, is appearing before the Assembly with a political dossier against the opposition, in order to escape the punishment he deserves. Meksi has already been asked three times to resign, but he shamelessly defends his criminalized government.”
The motion of no confidence against the government is one of the most serious constitutional initiatives for seeking political and criminal accountability from the government for the situation created after the events of 28 May. The text emphasizes that the prime minister has failed to guarantee constitutional order and has protected structures involved in crime. It also stresses that the Albanian parliament is facing a decisive test: to hand criminals over to the organs of justice or to grant a vote of confidence to “Meksi’s government”.

Yesterday at the Tirana court
The confrontation of the witnesses continues in the trial of former high-ranking party and state officials
A po[?] is bringing down a long series of accusations that, apparently, have still not found full confirmation. In yesterday’s court session, the confrontation between the witnesses and the defendants continued, bringing to light contradictions and inaccuracies in previous statements. The prosecution and the defense focused on issues related to political and economic decision-making in the earlier period.

Motion of no confidence against the Meksi government
To the Council of Ministers, Aleksandër Meksi
MOTION OF NO CONFIDENCE AGAINST THE CHAIRMAN
OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS
Mr. ALEKSANDËR MEKSI
In yesterday’s interpellation with Prime Minister Meksi, the parliamentary group of the SP also submitted the motion of no confidence in the government headed by him.
1. Meksi has completely failed to guarantee constitutional order and is
bringing about and legalizing systematic terror.
2. This process apparently has reserve objectives-
toward the opposition, but not toward
the truth.
3. [other parts of the motion text are unreadable][?]
