WHY DOES THE GREEK MINORITY NOT RETURN THE SPUNAZHIT FILES?! TWO YEARS IN PRISON OR A DEATH SENTENCE?...
The trial against five Greek miners continues
- Vangjel Papakristo denies everything he had admitted during the investigation. "After my arrest I was threatened with military imprisonment, even with death," he said.
- Prosecutor Gjokulaj states that freedoms and human rights were respected, also for Papakristo, during the investigation and in the Tirana prison.
- The five defendants come into the courtroom from prison without having eaten. Pandajol Malko Gjorgjafol is taken to the hospital with heart attacks
On the two steps at the entrance of the Tirana court there are hundreds and hundreds of people moving here and there, in a strange way, with faces that look very frozen. Ordinary people and civilians, many of them in police uniform. A large number of television journalists. Slowly, on the second floor, this room fills with people, where two years ago the trial of former senior PPSH officials, etc., took place. Everyone asks questions, but very few or no one tells you anything. They are waiting for the judges to arrive and for the five defendants to be brought in. Some clean their glasses and others take out their pens and notebooks. They turn their heads toward the door and watch more than they speak. No wonder. Full of curiosity, people wait to see the defendants in the sensational trial. The more people arrive, the fuller the room becomes. There are still many others outside it. Then the five defendants arrive. Surrounded by police forces, tired and sleepless, they walk slowly. Leaning on one another. One looks more worn out, another can barely keep up. The room falls silent.
After a few moments, the judges and the prosecutor enter. The hearing begins. The chairman of the court panel, in a calm voice, announces the start of the examination. The defendants are identified. The lawyers are present. Vangjel Papakristo is questioned first. He denies what he had previously said during the investigation. He says that after his arrest he was threatened, that pressure was put on him, that he was told about a long prison term, even death. His words are followed by movement in the room. Journalists write quickly. Relatives and interested people lean forward to hear better.
Prosecutor Gjokulaj intervenes and declares that in the investigation and in the Tirana prison, human freedoms and rights were respected, including for Papakristo. He rejects the claims of violence and pressure. The hearing continues with questions and answers. The tension does not ease. From time to time whispers are heard from the back of the room. At one point it is announced that Pandajol Malko Gjorgjafoli has been taken to hospital because of a heart attack. This adds even more gravity to the atmosphere.
In the room there is a special mood, where curiosity, fear, politics and justice are intertwined. Outside, the crowd waits for news. Inside, every sentence carries weight. The trial continues.
Disappointment
Having returned to Albania only one day before the match with Hajduk, after two months of training with the foreign club, Ylli Shehu did not show the required form. This was evident not only on the field, but also in the plays where precision was lacking. More was expected from him. In the stands and in sporting circles, his name was often mentioned with regret. Some had hoped to see the former striker, but the match brought more disappointment.

One of the defendants taken to hospital with heart attacks
At the morning session it was announced that one of the defendants was taken to hospital because his health condition had worsened. Sources in the courtroom said it was a case of heart attacks. The news affected the pace of the hearing and increased the tension among those present.
OPINIONS ABOUT THE TRIAL
There are tens of thousands of opinions, not surprisingly, in this trial that has drawn the public’s attention. In the corridors, in the streets, in cafes, in workplaces, people talk about it. Some see it as a test of the rule of law. Others see it as a process with political influence. There are also those who fear it could damage relations with neighboring countries. In the courtroom, low voices are heard; outside, there is waiting and anxiety. Everyone connects it with the recent past and with the future.
In these circumstances, one thing stands out: no one remains completely uninterested. Among citizens, students, workers, traders and pensioners, different opinions circulate. Some demand harsh punishment. Others call for restraint and evidence. This multitude of opinions is itself the mirror of a troubled society.

The Frr/yopalani of Sushaji does business with water
Bulqizë
In a poor area, where water supply has always been a problem, some residents complain that they are paying for what should have been a normal service. According to them, illegal interventions and private connections have turned water into a source of profit for certain individuals. Names are mentioned in half-whispers, while local authorities remain silent. Residents say payments are demanded irregularly and that they are often left without water.
