It is enough to touch those critical points, which, in discussions with members, I think hinder the effective functioning of TVSH the most. By proposing the creation of a TVSH Assembly in its new statute, we aim to broaden the breathing space of TVSH’s structures. Why? Because an organization with a very broad membership but a small functional base, limited information, and decisions taken by a small group, risks not being a truly mass organization. TVSH needs to be reformed in order to become more efficient, more democratic, and more open. QUESTION: Do you mean statutory changes (rules of the game)? ANSWER: TVSH will need a clearer, more functional, and more enforceable statute. Within this framework, I mean strengthening internal discipline, increasing the responsibility of the leadership structures, and broadening the participation of the membership in decision-making. QUESTION: And what about the organizational structures? ANSWER: On the issue of structures there are different opinions. In my view, the relationship between the center and the base should be reconsidered, as well as the way the branches in the districts function. What is needed is rational decentralization and better horizontal communication. QUESTION: Do you think TVSH should include more intellectuals? ANSWER: Yes. TVSH should become an attractive space for intellectuals, specialists, and young people. This is not done with words, but with democratic culture, free debate, and meritocracy. Protest by the leadership of the Socialist Party Debates in TVSH’s activities are mainly of an acceleration character At 6 p.m. in the evening, the news broadcast by the public television has been not only one-sided, but often also in offensive tones toward the opposition. This practice runs counter to the obligations of a public broadcaster in a democratic country. The leadership of the PS believes that Albanian citizens have the right to be informed in a balanced way and not according to the party interests of the government.
