- Meanwhile, the way remains open for further consequences - After much debate and controversy between the press and our government, the removal of pesticides from Milot was finally completed yesterday, thanks to concrete assistance from the German government. Those who carried out this operation were a team of German specialists and a squad of our soldiers, who worked persistently for more than 10 consecutive days and finally made it possible to complete this task. The team then set off from there, together with all its equipment, to continue the task in Bajzë, Shkodër. The team of German specialists, led by Mr. Thomas Hauthal, and the squad of soldiers from the special chemical warfare unit, led by military officer Yllson Stena, deserve congratulations. The residents of Milot, too, were almost freed from the anxiety that had gripped them for a long time as they lived alongside these poisonous substances, which were extremely dangerous to their lives. The pesticides have been removed, but the way remains open for further consequences. Only the warehouse area and the surrounding premises have been disinfected. But what next? Some liquids have seeped deep into the ground, both through suspected cracks in the warehouse and through leaks onto the surface, spreading into the areas outside the warehouse. In other words, some of the liquids have found a refuge in the soil, and they are still alive there. Once again, drawing on the specialists’ expertise, we stress that they must be neutralized using one of the most appropriate methods. We have also emphasized that concrete tests must be carried out both on the premises and on people. Let us not forget that, according to scientific evidence, some pesticides remain active for as long as 20 years. No concrete measures have been taken so far. These warnings have fallen on deaf ears, even though these problems are not unknown to those concerned. But why the silence? Or are the paths to further consequences being deliberately left open? Immediate measures must be taken before it is too late. In conclusion, we want to recall the words of a German specialist who was in Milot some time ago and said: “If the residents of Milot knew the negative consequences of pesticides, they would leave their homes and flee.” BEKTASH ZENELI

Prime Minister Meksi is aware of the anti-democratic and criminal actions against the opposition and its leaders in Shkodër, Dibër, Korçë, Fier, Kukës, Lezhë, etc. Through his indifferent stance and his statements, Mr. Meksi has supported terrorist actions and created conditions for their continuation, leading up to the events in Libofshë.
