CORRUPTION CANNOT BE COMBATED BY THOSE WHO FOSTER IT EVERY DAY

ALBANIAN POLITICS MUST BE CLEANSED OF DIRTY SINS Today, at the beginning of the fight against corruption, our politics needs to be cleansed of dirty and anti-national affairs. It must be separated from that unclean stratum of degraded politicians. Only in this way will it have the opportunity to free itself from its bitter past and take steps forward. Political and economic corruption has appeared in many different forms. Close ties have been created between power and illegal enrichment. Instead of a state based on the rule of law, we have often seen arbitrariness, dubious privatizations, abuses of public property, and protection of people involved. This has worsened the life of the country and damaged citizens’ trust. Under these conditions, no one can present themselves as a fighter against corruption if they themselves have been part of the system that fed it every day. Transparency, accountability, and a clear break with the dark past are needed. Only thus can a new political and moral climate for Albania be built.

Radio Tirana censors even “Voice of America”

In the latest broadcasts, a tendency to limit alternative sources of information has been noticed. Even broadcasts or quotations from “Voice of America” have been treated with hesitation, which has provoked reactions in public opinion. This behavior does not serve free information, nor the democratic opening that the country requires.
