APPROVAL OF THE REFERENDUM LAW ONLY WITH THE VOTE OF THE PD IS THE PRELUDE TO THE APPROVAL OF AN UNCONSTITUTIONAL CONSTITUTION
Meeting of the leadership of the Socialist Party
Do not vote for the act that stops democracy in its tracks
Speech by Dr. Fatos Nano
Only a personal dictatorship can be built on the legal ruins of parliament

THE SP WILL NOT ALLOW THE VIOLATION OF DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS
In support of the decision of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party, its Steering Committee, through a statement, has called on all deputies to boycott today's plenary session, where the unconstitutional draft law on referendums will be discussed and voted on. Failing to boycott today by the socialist opposition deputies, softened by compromises that have never been and will never be to our honor, would be not only an act incompatible with the political orientation and decisions of the party's leading forums, but also an unacceptable compromise for the interests and future of a truly parliamentary opposition.
This act is being presented to the country under the mask of democratization, but in fact it opens the way to the legalization of the imposition of a one-sided and unconstitutional constitution. In conditions where the fundamental law is lacking, when the independent institutions have been struck, the approval of this draft law with only the vote of the PD constitutes the prelude to the approval of an unconstitutional constitution.
Only a personal dictatorship can be built on the legal ruins of parliament. The Socialist Party will not allow the violation of democratic institutions and the rule of law.
