NO TO THE VIOLATORS OF CONSTITUTIONAL LAWS NO TO SALI BERISHA'S UNLIMITED POWER NO TO THE BYPASSING, VIOLATION AND TRAMPLING OF PARLIAMENT

In the proposals “Restoring the Constitution”, an appeal from AD to political parties An appeal to everyone: NO TO THE VIOLATORS OF CONSTITUTIONAL LAWS NO TO SALI BERISHA'S UNLIMITED POWER NO TO THE BYPASSING, VIOLATION AND TRAMPLING OF PARLIAMENT IN THE PROPOSALS “ALIGNMENT FOR THE CONSTITUTION”, - AD's appeal to the political parties - Democratic Athens proposes alignment for the CONSTITUTION We have come to the conclusion that in preparing the draft Constitution, our country, instead of moving toward finalization, is entering a situation in which it is becoming increasingly necessary to raise our voices about the danger of a presidential state. If until yesterday the deputies of the opposition parties made it possible for the Constitution to be discussed in Parliament, the process has now turned into an attempt to suspend parliament and move the country into a regime in which institutions depend on a single hand. Democratic Athens notes that the spirit of the recent actions is to replace dialogue with imposition, agreement with command, and the rule of law with arbitrariness. Therefore we call on the political parties, social organizations and public opinion to align in support of the Constitution, parliament and against unlimited power. This is a call for national responsibility, for respect for constitutional laws, and for the protection of citizens' democratic rights.
Sali Berisha

Unique stance to defend the constitution and constitutional legality

Skënder Gjinushi: Chairman of the Social Democratic Party . By now Albanian democracy must be clear about the fact that these actions are dealing a serious blow to the constitutional order. We are not simply for a formal objection, but for a united stance of all forces that seek the rule of law. If the Constitution is held hostage by narrow political interests, we will have not only a crisis of representation, but also a crisis of the state itself. Therefore, now is the moment for everyone to line up in defense of the constitution and constitutional legality. (Continues on page 4)

THIS CONSTITUTION SANCTIONS BERISHA'S PERSONAL POWER

KALAKULA speaks, chairman of the PBD In the version being presented, the draft constitution not only weakens the role of parliament, but shifts the real center of decision-making to the president. This is the essence of our concern: a system of personal power is being created, one that runs counter to democratic principles and the balance of powers. If this version is adopted, the country will have a president with powers that do not belong in a parliamentary republic. (Continues on page 4)

With what do you refute the constitutional court? with “40p...”!

The question has been raised of how a constitutional court ruling can be disregarded, while instead of being argued with law, propagandistic formulas and arbitrary interpretations are used. A state governed by the rule of law cannot function on the basis of denying constitutional oversight. (Continues on page 4)

Berisha takes the Constitution to referendum because he cannot secure 2/3 in parliament

Let us line up and stop anyone who usurps powers and competences that do not belong to them

Vasil Melo, chairman of PBDNJ it is appropriate to emphasize that powers in a parliamentary republic cannot be concentrated in a single institution. Any deviation from this principle constitutes a threat to democracy and to citizens' rights. For this reason, a broad social and political alignment is needed against any usurpation of competences that belong to no one except the institutions defined by law.
