Why did the executive director of the Italo-Albanian Bank “kill himself”

"In fact, in recent times he had been receiving many phone calls from Albania and several operations under his responsibility (unknowingly or under pressure from someone) had ended up under the magnifying lens of investigators, perhaps not very convinced about the cleanliness of the money entering this bank." President Berisha, Prime Minister Meksi violate the Constitution?! Dylber Vrioni, government official and president of the Italo-Albanian Bank, unconstitutionally? Will the deputies become...?! The Minister of Finance of Albania, Mr. Vrioni, is the president of the ITALO-ALBANIAN bank?! What are the posts hiding?! DYLBER VRIONI, BEING AT THE SAME TIME PRIME MINISTER AND MEMBER OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS, AS WELL AS VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE BANK OF ALBANIA, ON THE BASIS OF THE CONSTITUTION, IT IS UNACCEPTABLE AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR HIM TO BE PRESIDENT OF THIS ITALO-ALBANIAN BANK. Facsimile from articles published in “Zëri i Popullit” “Something extremely serious must have happened at the institution where my husband was director in Albania,” says Mary Jane Pancani, of American origin. “For a long time he had been depressed and upset. The judicial power is again threatened

We underline The judicial power is again threatened -What is being prepared against Zef Brozi? What some analysts expected and predicted, namely that the end of August and September would be the days of the attack on the president of the Court of Cassation, Zef Brozi, was confirmed these days. As always, “the heavy artillery strike,” in order to advance further with other means according to the style of “10 Stalinist blows,” was launched by the newspaper of the ruling party, “RD,” which, as if announcing a political tender for the sale of Zef Brozi, described him as “a Sigurimi man, charlatan, unconstitutional, etc.” and in the following days published two photos of officers killed from the archive files of the personnel department of the Ministry of the Interior who are currently employees of the Court of Cassation, whom RD claimed had been Sigurimi officers, but as it turns out all this was a show, because, as the “people advertised in the photos” themselves state in RD, these were nothing but photographic and propagandistic tricks, involving a former guard of the prime minister’s office and a former French teacher. But RD forgets that how many former Sigurimi officers, whose names are not worth mentioning, are today part of the structures of SHIK, of the Ministry of the Interior, even up to the security squads of the top leaders of the state? Does RD forget that in the archives of the Ministry of the Interior one can also find and fabricate photographs of Ali Spahia and Pjetër Arbnori in police uniforms, or of Tritan Shehu as an officer of the people’s army? In the continuation of the accusations against Zef Brozi, RD also published a court decision concerning a defendant for the crime of “agitation-propaganda” from 1989, who had been placed in a hospital for compulsory treatment, and on this occasion the judge in the case, Zef Brozi, is accused of “communist genocide.” Fine, Zefi may indeed have put an irresponsible person in hospital, but RD forgets that those who today serve the political power of the PD, such as Rustem Gjata, Arben Qeleshi, Genc Gjokuta, etc., have condemned citizens in court and in prison, also for the crime of agitation-propaganda. Will these too one day be held responsible for “communist genocide”? The Minister of Justice, Mr. H. Frasheri, also joined the frontal attack on Brozi. In fact, a session of the government meeting was devoted to the “unconstitutional activity” of the President of the Court of Cassation (to be continued on page 2)

A “landslide” of goals in the first week

57th National Football Championship The first week of the championship began with a “landslide” of goals, with three opening points for Tirana, with big wins for Apollonia, Skënderbeu and Partizani, with an unexpected draw by Tomori in Shkodër and with only 0:0 from Shqiponja against Elbasani in Gjirokastër. Bushi of Tirana and Kodra of Partizani are the leading scorers with two goals each in the matches of the first week, while Grabocka of Sopoti had the distinction of scoring the first goal of this championship in the 11th minute. Mema’s boys have justified the trust placed in them, as well as the championship title they hold, by inflicting on Laçi its first home defeat after a year. Along with the away win, Tirana also tried the new FSHF system of awarding three points for an away victory. Olimpik (Dinamo) is experiencing its crisis, losing heavily 3:0 in Korçë, while Partizani started in the second half against the Krujë side by scoring the highest number of goals. Besa triumphs over Flamurtari with ambition, Apolonia as a new hope, while Peqini faced the strong resistance of Sopoti. Only a 0:0 draw in Gjirokastër, even though Shqiponja has in its ranks the former top scorer Shehu. Vllaznia-Tomorri 1:1 Laçi-Tirana 2:3 Partizani-Kastrioti 4:2 Albpetrol-Teuta 2:1 Shqiponja-Elbasani 0:0 Shkumbini-Sopoti 2:1 Besa-Flamurtari 1:0 Skënderbeu-Olimpik 3:0 Apollonia-Besëlidhja 3:0
