The Failures of the Democratic Party and Its Government Are Being Placed on the Back of the People
From the rise in prices:
The ongoing motions, yesterday's cabinet meeting and its statements to the media, under the guise of the “liberalization” of the economy, have as their central axis the shifting of responsibility for the government's failures onto the broad masses of the people and the further increase in prices. In these first days of the year, as Albanians are facing old wages and pensions and new prices, it is becoming completely clear that all promises of stabilization and improvement were nothing but demagoguery. Whenever power fails in managing the economy, the bill is presented to the ordinary citizen. It was said that the market would regulate everything, but today the market left unchecked is being used as an alibi for continual price increases, lack of responsibility and a worsening of living conditions. Instead of measures for production, employment and the protection of vulnerable groups, the government is satisfied with excuses, calling “necessity” what is in fact incompetence and failure. For working families, for pensioners, for peasants and for everyone living on a small income, this policy is becoming unbearable. Every price increase directly affects bread, oil, sugar, transport, medicine and everything else tied to everyday life. While the government talks about reforms, the people feel only the burden of poverty. This is the consequence of a mistaken policy that does not carry its own responsibility on its shoulders, but unloads it onto the back of the people.

Prosecutor Çeleshi: You have stolen 1.6 million dollars
Prosecutor Çeleshi:
You have stolen 1.6 million dollars
SALIU: You do not accept the accusation.
TATJANI: You do not accept it, I understand, nor do I accept a point.
HODI: You do not accept it at any point, and the process is the great deception of the doors.
HYVERI: I understand what Albanian this is, translated from French, that I categorically do not accept and the punishment is enough with a needle, I categorically do not accept and the punishment is enough with a needle.[?]
ASIDI has broken the money. Was a part of it stolen?[?]
- GENC RULI signed as minister of finance.
The denunciation of the share that the enterprises present in figures of 28.1 million dollars, accused of creating “Vorio-Epiri”, the increased amount is reconverted. Prosecutor Çeleshi requested 26 years in prison for the defendants, while the defense lawyers opposed the indictment. During the session, banks, contracts, payments and the responsibilities of various officials were mentioned. According to the prosecution, the damage caused to the state amounts to 1.6 million dollars.
Genc Ruli: “I will not hand over my head on a silver platter”
- From yesterday's press conference -
Two papers or some hand-held object, since they were not reason enough to dismiss me from the post of Minister of Finance, but the issue of not meeting revenue targets in customs and taxes served as a convenient pretext. It is linked to the uproar over freeing the administration. All the problems come from the fact that the government never looks beyond the quarter. It has learned to govern with emergencies, with improvisation, without strategy. That is the essence of the crisis. I am not a man who runs away from responsibilities, but I am against using a person as a scapegoat for failures that belong to everyone. If they want a ceremonial culprit to calm public opinion, let them find one elsewhere. I will not hand over my head on a silver platter.
At yesterday's press conference, former Finance Minister Genc Ruli spoke at length about relations with the government, the budget, customs, taxes and the way political responsibilities are being handled. He said it is wrong for the whole debate to focus on one person when the problems are structural and have been building up for a long time. According to him, the government seeks to present a simple solution to a complicated crisis. He hinted that the recent clashes are also linked to political interests within the majority.

The Biggest Wonder: There Is No Corruption!
At Privatizata
This is what, since last night, my successful achievement [?] in the national yellowing for the sale of the processing and production. Mr. Glozheni said with full responsibility that the winner of the competition is the winner in every article, article 24 of the place where he lives. The company, with its presentation, has never made any mistake. And this is an unprecedented success in the history of trading state assets. We are a people who like to invent corruption where there is none. Everything else is a misunderstanding. In this country the state may lose, the workers may lose, production may lose, but the procedure always turns out to be in order.
In the end, so that nothing would remain unexplained, it was said that the competition had been free, transparent and fair. That the winner won because he was the best, while the others did not win because they did not win. Thus, with iron logic, another chapter of Albanian privatization was closed, where the greatest wonder remains that there is no corruption.
The Prosecutor's Office Declared the Arrest of Three Directors, the Police Say They Have Disappeared
Mikasi e Madho
How beautiful it is to act at the same time with two standards. To arrest according to the newspaper and to search according to custom. That is what is happening with three officials who, according to the prosecution, should have been placed in handcuffs, but who, according to the police, “cannot be found.” One is said to have left without leaving an address, the second is supposedly ill, the third perhaps has not yet heard about it. This game between orders and non-enforcement is becoming the norm. When it comes to ordinary people, the state finds them immediately. When it comes to directors, the state loses its way.
This story shows not only a lack of seriousness, but also the usual clash between institutions that, instead of cooperating, blame one another. The prosecution announces, the police deny, the public is astonished and those sought disappear into thin air. In a normal state this would be a scandal. Here it is at risk of becoming routine.
