The state's thugs in action

Legitimate activities of opposition parties are violently obstructed -Yesterday in Lushnjë, SHIK employees and paid anonymous individuals, also arrived from Berat and Kavaja, disrupted a Socialist Party meeting Even before the election campaign has begun, Berisha's government has planned and is implementing in almost all districts of the country anti-legal activities in the service of raising political and social tension, activities that inspire a strategy of violence so that the PD can hold on to power at any cost. After the unlawful actions in the capital, in Vlorë, in Malësia e Madhe, etc., where direct representatives of the National Intelligence Service were involved, yesterday the Socialist activists of Lushnjë found themselves in such a situation; they had planned to hold an expanded meeting in implementation of the tasks arising from the latest meeting of the KPD of the PSSH. This event was sabotaged. The chronology of the event, the whole staging of it, speaks of one truth: that the current government has built a detailed scheme of anti-legal actions to confront the activities of the Socialist Party and the opposition as a whole. Fatos Nano: "Our people were the first who, under pluralism, guaranteed the first free and democratic elections and the peaceful transfer of power into the hands of the opposition, for the first time in postwar Albania. Berisha has not yet done this; in fact, this remains the only constitutional duty he must fulfill before his inevitable departure from power" Read on page 3
