6 November: an event with the value of a historic victory
-By their vote, Albanians said NO to legal violations, said NO to the law of backwardness and medieval revenge, said NO to Berisha's personal power
Tomorrow marks one year since 6 November 1994, when our people were called to an illegal referendum to vote on a draft constitution, to say yes or no to it, as the only path chosen by the ruling leadership to supposedly make Albania democratic through its fundamental law.
One year after that notable day, when the people overwhelmingly said no to the draft constitution, a draft that along the way took on the name of President Berisha, has served for a series of analyses aimed at uncovering the causes that led to this great failure of a project advertised as being equal in value to democracy, to freedom, to independence, to everything Albanians seek and hold sacred. In this sense, this great failure of Berisha's power on 6 November last year has the value of a great victory for the true democracy we want to build in Albania, for the rule of law we want to establish, for the modern level of freedoms and human rights that we must enjoy.
