Second round of local elections in Bulgaria Yesterday the main Bulgarian newspapers announced with large headlines the victory of the socialists in the second round of the elections. The central idea in the Bulgarian press was: logic won, not passion. In the second round of the elections, the Bulgarian Socialist Party repeated and strengthened the result of the first round. It won all three municipal capitals from the two won by the Democratic Party. Out of 26 municipalities, the Socialist Party won 21 of them. Mentioning these cities Pleven, Montana, Pasazhik, Shumen, Pernik, where the socialists won 60-74% of the vote. The Democratic Party won only in four cities, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Plovdiv, Varna.
