It was attended by independent specialists, citizens and representatives of different political forces. Despite difficult economic and social conditions, the involvement of coalitions in tenders and widespread moral decay, the path of the socialists is clear: to organize and to demonstrate in practice the realism of their alternative. Seventy days before the elections of 26 October, the PS in the district remains a powerful force with 1,410 members, in 63 organizations, with an increase of 300 new members. Considering that the PS is a force that has returned to the people and to all social strata, we are making efforts for its broader affirmation. In the town of Selenica, taking into account the push by the PDBNJ for local power, work has been carried out patiently and prudently, making it possible to bring many influential elements in the economic and political life of the town closer. Here we note good coordination between PS councillors and those from the independent sphere, which has created an atmosphere of trust. At the center of the party organization's attention are the problems related to production, employment and the prospects of young people. Much work has been done to cope with the situations created after the political changes, as well as to establish order in the local bodies. In the district, through contact with the people, a positive assessment of the socialist alternative is noted. In many villages of the district the party base has expanded and its influence is being consolidated. The PS leadership is carefully analyzing all problems arising from the base and is taking measures to improve organizational work. It is requested that every member contribute to raising the party's prestige and expanding alliances with other progressive factors.

This also emerges from numerous contacts with people, from their reactions and from participation in party organizations. In the conditions of a severe economic and social situation, the PS must appear as a responsible force, with a clear program and honest people. On this path our influence has also grown in areas where we were previously weaker. Citizens' problems are linked to work, bread, education and health; therefore politics must enter everyday life. The party organizations are trying to be closer to people and to support any initiative for local development.

It is necessary to clarify and suspend all adventurist actions of the Kosovo elite, which bring self-restraint and insecurity. There is no other path than political dialogue, the affirmation of democratic values and the preservation of regional stability.

During their stay they became acquainted with Danish experience in the field of media, press freedom and the organization of public institutions. The meetings held emphasized the importance of cultural and professional cooperation.

At a meeting with local structures it was pointed out that the growth of the party must go hand in hand with the growth of civic responsibility. There was talk about organizing social assistance, relations with the community and the involvement of young professionals in the life of the party.

The speakers underlined the need to increase the effectiveness of the organizations and to encourage the participation of women and young people. Relations with the electorate and ways to cope with economic difficulties in peripheral areas were also addressed.

Vlorë Here was launched for the first time the international prize “Lovra Kadaré”, worth 20,000 dollars, financed by the Albanian Cultural Foundation and by other sponsor owners. With the help of social democratic delegates and delegations from other countries, on 15 and 16 February MP Rixh Xhovani of the PS and MP Fatos Nano of the PSSH held a series of meetings and discussions at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Parliament and the Ministry of Labour of that country, with the aim of learning more broadly about that country's experience in solving acute social and political problems and raising bilateral relations to a new level.
