WHERE ARE THE 2 BILLION DOLLARS OF INVESTMENTS?...

In their entirety, the economies, currency, prices and ownership relations had been made “attractive” in order to deceive, move and inflate. It was publicly said that “foreign investments came like rain.” But how much was this amount of foreign investment really? The documents cited on the state’s official page give completely different figures. According to the President, over three years investments were 518 million dollars. According to Shefeti, during 1994 investments were 120 million dollars. The Institute of Statistics gives 100 million dollars. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy and Finance gives 140 million dollars. The Director of Foreign Investments gives 61 million dollars. Under such conditions, the question arises: where are the 2 billion dollars of investments? Was the figure inflated for propaganda? Were the data manipulated? Is there a contradiction among the highest state institutions? These questions become even stronger when public statements contradict one another. On 29 December 1994 Prime Minister Meksi declared that “foreign investments have increased,” while on 21 April 1995 in another statement a completely different calculation was given. If the annual investments of 1994 were 61 million dollars, how can it be claimed that in three years they exceed the value of 2 billion dollars? Even if loans, privatizations, and the purchase of enterprises are added, this figure remains unacceptable without full documentation. The opposition demands clarity, transparency and a full explanation. Numbers cannot replace facts. Referring only to the official documents published during 1994 and the beginning of 1995, the picture is clear: there are serious discrepancies. This makes an immediate clarification from the government and the responsible institutions necessary.

“Bank” - “Bank”

The annual amount that can be accumulated by the bank through loans and fees remains high.
