The politics of services once again says no to political dialogue and opposition posture
It responds to “Zëri i Popullit” to the remarks of Mr. Abdi Baleta in “Rilindja Demokratike” and in “55”
Last year, Mr. Abdi Baleta publicly declared himself a “democrat.” After that he set to work zealously in the service of the politics of services. That is his right. What is not justified is only his anger because “Zëri i Popullit” did not publish his anti-Albanian propaganda for “reunification” with Kosovo. Our newspaper is the organ of the PSSH. We have our unchanging position on the Albanian national question and a certain programmatic orientation. The doctrine of “reunification” is incompatible with the strategy of the European integration of Albanians and runs counter to the peaceful interests of the region.
In his article published in recent days, Mr. Baleta attacks us in harsh language and attributes to us aims we have not expressed. He tries to present as “patriotic” a closed, dangerous path that is detached from international reality. This kind of politics serves neither Kosovo, nor Albania, nor Albanians in general.
We have defended and continue to defend the right of the Albanians of Kosovo to freedom, equality, and self-determination, but not verbal adventurism. For us, serious national politics is linked to strengthening the Albanian state, democratic integration, regional cooperation, and support for human and national rights through political and diplomatic means.
Mr. Baleta demands that any different voice be declared “anti-national.” This logic is old and harmful. It seeks to close debate and replace reason with labels. Instead of political dialogue, he chooses slander and insult.
In this sense, his article is not an honest polemic, but another service to the politics of division. We do not intend to follow this path. “Zëri i Popullit” will continue to defend with clarity the national interest, peace, democracy, and political dialogue between the government and the opposition.
