Some time ago the press wrote about a strike by employees of the hotel and tourism enterprise in Shkodër, who were protesting that the government had expropriated them in order to hand the property over to a group of PD businesspeople presented as former political prisoners. We do not want to tell stories, but we want to say that more or less the same thing has been done with all state property: a large number of people have been disappointed in order to favor another, small group. It is clear that PD wants to create the social stratum on which it relies; it will reward that stratum for its support during the furious campaign of December 1990–March 1992. But it is also indebted to it, because this is the stratum that, ultimately, will keep it in power. The people, the electorate, have been left where they were by this game with property: poor and disappointed, but no longer willing to be deceived. One or two strikes may be silenced, but can the greatest theft in Albania’s history be presented as lawful privatization, as the way to save the national economy? Absolutely not. This is also why the PD leadership, headed by the president, sounds the fanfares of success, knowing full well that the spoon is empty. The people know better, and therefore will not be deceived. Let us recall what happened with the privatization vouchers, otherwise known as securities. They were bought up in a single day. Who got rich from these papers? Apart from a handful of traffickers, whose secret connections with those in power are unknown? Securities may be distributed by the ton, but nobody can prosper from them, because the Albanian economy has been destroyed down to its foundations. And it was destroyed down to its foundations by those who looted it. The people know who they are. Unfortunately, this also seems to be what will happen with the government’s latest plan to privatize 20 enterprises. Zali was pregnant and gave birth to a mouse.

Outside all journalistic ethics and in keeping with the servile code of the lackey, who knows only how to erect cults, they mentioned him 26 times as President Berisha, 9 times as the President, and 2 times as Him. Tiranë Documents have been submitted for the ratification of the Albania–Greece agreement to eliminate double taxation. This took place yesterday at the government meeting. The draft agreement will subsequently be presented to parliament. ••• An offer for cooperation in the production of combine harvesters has arrived in the capital. The German company HVSA is seeking to join forces to bring this project to life. Shkodër Private farmers in this district have been granted 145 million lekë in loans, which has contributed to increased agricultural and livestock production. Durrës An increase in insurance revenue has been noted in this district. So far, 77 million and 166 thousand lekë have been collected; the good work done on accident insurance stands out. Lezhë The relevant commission in this district has reviewed 100 applications for the return and compensation of property. Another 7 files are under review, while 18 more are in the process of having their documentation prepared. Tropojë An alarm has been sounded in this district: fish are disappearing.
