Not all members of this institution will answer before the law, but not all government officials, directors of private and public enterprises, who until yesterday were running around to hide their scandals. The President of the Republic, Sali Berisha, in the framework of the close relations and growing cooperation with the USA, yesterday hosted a working lunch for the American congresswoman and member of the Committee for Business Development with the Eastern World and the Eastern countries in the U.S. Congress, Ms. Carolyn B. Maloney. The American ambassador in Tirana, Ms. Marisa Lino, also took part in the lunch. During this warm and friendly meeting, a range of issues of importance for Albanian-American relations and the latest developments in Albania and the region were discussed. He expressed his appreciation for the contribution being made by the U.S. Congress to U.S. assistance for our country at these difficult moments. At the meeting on this occasion, Ms. Maloney stressed that the USA, as Albania's main ally, will continue to support efforts to democratize the political and economic life of our country. (Page 2)
