The Government over Parliament

The Government's decision changes Parliament's law The rulers will verify the rulers' wealth!?... The structure of the Verification Commission is changed: 8 government officials and one opposition member The government operation "Clean Hands" fails right from the start Tirana- The Albanian government has once again struck Parliament hard. The initiative of the legislative institution, "Rulers facing the declaration of assets", turned into law on 8 March last year, was further compromised on Monday after another meeting of the Albanian Government. The ministerial cabinet "voted" on Monday at noon to return the decision to a draft decision advertised as anti-corruption. But the illusory idea that government officials would show their pockets before the people has been shattered, according to the propaganda of the time at a rapid pace. LAW No. 7930, dated 8.3.1995 ON THE DECLARATION OF THE ASSETS OF THE ELECTED OFFICIALS AND SOME MANAGERS AND PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEES Article 7 The subjects of articles 1 and 2 of this law shall declare before the Presidium of the Assembly, the elected members of parliament, before the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, the members of the Council of Ministers, the Constitutional Court and the Court of Cassation, the employees of the State Control Service and those employed under this directorate and in the verification services of this office as members of it. Their mandate is 1 year. The People's Assembly appoints four members, the Council of Ministers and the Court of Cassation appoint two members each, and one member is appointed by the State Control Service. THE LAW The People's Assembly appoints 4 members, the Council of Ministers and the Court of Cassation appoint two members each, and one member is appointed by the State Control Service...". Decision "... will be made up of three representatives from Parliament, three from the government, two from State Control, one from the courts, etc. nine people in total". Page 3

We, the abandoned by the state, denounce

Written from Athens We continue to be deeply shaken, therefore as abandoned people, without any kind of state protection, we denounce the following:... We left Albania because we were left without work, without a home, without bread, despite having worked for 20-40 years, and not a single drop of sweat was rewarded... Who knows how many Albanian families live here, how many children attend Greek schools, and, unfortunately, how many beg at intersections and traffic lights.
