Yesterday, leading representatives of the Socialist Party and the Chairman of the Socialist Party of Albania, on behalf of the Presidency and the parliamentary group, comrades Servet Pëllumbi, Iluan Hajdaraga, Teodor Laço, Musa Ulqini, Fatmir Xhafa, Mevlan Shanaj, etc., went to the families of the deceased and of the injured in the terrorist act of 26 February in Tirana. Meeting with the deputies of the "Democracy of the new" Party

At the PS headquarters Yesterday at the headquarters of the Socialist Party, the political secretary of the presidency of the "New Democracy" Party, Aleksandër Kërçelli, accompanied by the secretary for foreign relations, Vladimir Meksi, went in response to the invitation of the Presidency of the Socialist Party. Accompanied by the secretary for relations with parties in the PS, Jorgo Papajani, they were received by the PS secretary for human resources, Arben Malaj. After the discussion in an atmosphere of understanding, mutual trust was expressed and the need for further contacts and consultations between the two parties was accepted, especially regarding the reforming and integrating process underway in Albania. In the conversation, mutual concern was also expressed regarding the recent terrorist acts and killings, which are seriously harming the political climate in the country. They serve the forces that seek unrest and discord and undermine the process of building an Albania as all Albanians dream and wish for. With this full understanding, the presidency of this party will take part in the protest rally of the citizens of Socialist Tirana and of the opposition. These positions are also supported by the joint declaration of the opposition parties, which was made public a few days earlier. Finally, Aleksandër Kërçelli and Vladimir Meksi congratulated the PS for the special role it is playing in Albania, under the conditions created by terror and insecurity, in guiding the country’s political life along peaceful lines. During the conversation, it was reaffirmed that the PSH position, consolidated thanks to recent developments, has shown that its political platform for democratic development, under the conditions created by terror, to take part in the protest of the citizens and the opposition.

Working meeting with the chairman of the PSD Mr. Jozef Oleksi

From the activities of the PSSH delegation in Poland Tirana, During their stay in Poland, the members of the PSSH delegation, led by the secretary for foreign relations Namik Dokle, carried out numerous activities of a political nature. They held a political meeting with Mr. Jozef Oleksi, the general secretary and chairman of the parliamentary group of the PSD. During the meeting, the PSSH delegation handed Mr. Oleksi a message for the head of the Polish state, former president Lech Wałęsa, from the chairman of the PSSH Fatos Nano, which commits Oleksi to the efforts made by social-democratic politics in Poland. The meeting also discussed the possibility of further continuation of relations between the two parties as well as their expansion at parliamentary and governmental level. The chairman of the PSD of Poland, Mr. Jozef Oleksi, expressed mutual understanding and experience to the PSSH delegation. The PSSH expressed its appreciation for the important role and contribution of Polish politics to the democratic changes throughout Eastern Europe. The conversation took place in a friendly atmosphere and a desire for further contacts was expressed. * * * The chairman of the PSD of Poland, Mr. Jozef Oleksi, has offered the PSSH help to expand relations and cooperation with Western and international political bodies. He has given his personal commitment to include the PSSH in the organizations of the new Western political world. With the delegation of the PSD Political Affairs Commission, the meeting also discussed the possibilities of exchanging literature and strengthening relations between the parties. [...?]
