Congresses take place in the life of nations; they have become known as places where minds meet, where clear alternatives to processes are outlined, where opinions and concerns are expressed, where hopes and expectations are born and die as texts for the young and the old. Unlike others, socialists have their places in the process. They have taken their programmes to ordinary people and subjected them to discussion and approval. Today they come both mature in government and open to cooperation, and even more sensitive to social problems. The stakes of the new Albanian democracy cannot be measured by grand words alone. A project is needed, will is needed, moral strength is needed. The Socialist Party of Albania enters this Congress with the aim of expanding democracy, making it closer to the citizen and more useful for everyday life. In the Congress hall, not only delegates gather, but also experience, political memory, challenges and responsibility. That is why socialists see democracy not as a privilege of the minority, but as the property of everyone. Only in this way can trust be won and a sustainable path for the country be built.

Yesterday at the Brigades Palace, the president of Greece Stefanopoulos received and met with the senior representatives of the Socialist Party, the vice chairman of the PS Nushi Angjeli and the deputy Fatos Nano. It is learned that during the conversation the political developments in the country, the positions of the political forces, as well as relations between Albania and Greece, were discussed. The president of Greece praised the constructive role of the PS in Albanian political life, expressing confidence that the left will have an important place in the country's democratic developments. The socialist representatives emphasized the need for regional cooperation, mutual respect, and support for Albania's integration into Euro-Atlantic structures.
