A bloody midnight in Vlora: three dead and dozens wounded
Vlora was struck again. The whole city immediately rose up and went to stand by the young men and women confined in the hunger strike, even though midnight was approaching. Everything happened in record time. Thousands upon thousands of people from Vlora left their homes, put sleep aside, and gathered where the Doves of Vlora are writing the newest chapter in the history of their city.
Because someone provoked, insulted and killed the people of Vlora. And the demonstration square was bloodied by the hand of the criminals of the night. The news spread immediately. The rifle shots spread panic. Soon afterwards, it was learned that the first victim had been taken to hospital. The voice of a female employee at the city hospital, who was crying more than speaking, confirmed to “Zëri i popullit” at around 23:30 the news of one dead person and several wounded. Later, we learned that by 1 a.m. there were three dead and more than 20 wounded. The protests and gunfire continued throughout the night. Meanwhile, the protesters had taken over the SHIK building.
The protesters began gathering after a white van with four or five armed men abducted two protesters and stopped in the courtyard of the SHIK building. According to unconfirmed sources, this was the reason the protesters, who pursued the vehicle, headed there.
