Yesterday’s decree extending the deadlines, scandalous and unconstitutional, although apparently welcomed by a good part of the parliamentarians and ministers (a good connoisseur of Albanian politics called today’s government a “national union of prehistoric dinosaurs”), in reality does nothing but give time, air and weight to the party responsible for five months of conspiracy, replaced by the politically shameless acts of the elections, to gather and prolong their destructive energies in a revenge offensive. It is a senseless logic that treats the elections as an end rather than a beginning, as if the people would take neither the new presidency, which is contested, nor the provisional government into account at all, to wait five months, perhaps with all the miracle of the awakening of the vote and of the elections, before judging. Shall we laugh or cry?... In a few days, and in their impatience, Albanians will feel clearly and more keenly, unfortunately still, what consequences unrest, the politics of hatred, chaos and revenge bring to life; they kill a dream every day. These are also reflected in what those responsible still call pacification and control of the situation, which are making people’s lives harder every day and, instead of calming things down, bring only panic and departure. This is the naked truth, which is presented only in foul declarations, since Fatos Nano unreasonably believes in the macroeconomics of the Government of National Reconciliation
