Zog's bandits are bleeding Tirana
Berisha and the Democratic Party are instigators and a shield for crime
Statement by the Prime Minister of the Government of National Reconciliation, Mr. Bashkim Fino
Do not take responsibility for other illegal acts
Instead of calming and reconciling, in recent days the chairman of the Democratic Party and the outgoing President of the country, Sali Berisha, has been encouraging one political force and other irresponsible extremists to prepare and organize demonstrations, gatherings and other illegal protests. These extremists, in cooperation with incriminated elements, organized an illegal gathering last night near the PD headquarters, blocking the road and turning it into an unauthorized rally. In the illegal gathering, the demonstrators did not stop at the known political demands, but also resorted to violent forms punishable by law. The police and public order forces were attacked with stones and there was an attempt to force their way into the Government headquarters. Explosive devices and materials were used against the Prime Minister's Office building. Serious measures were taken by the police, but the public order forces, operating under difficult conditions and with the aim of not worsening the situation, showed extreme restraint.
With their unacceptable and grave actions, the demonstrators have left one officer and one police officer dead. Two other soldiers and several police officers were also seriously injured. These acts of terror clearly reveal the organizers' сценарios to make real the climate of destabilization and general chaos that Berisha and other extremists near him need in order to undermine the electoral process. I call on all political representatives and citizens to remain calm and not fall prey to calls for revenge and violence. The Government of National Reconciliation and the other state institutions are determined to defend constitutional order, free elections and the lives of citizens. Any illegal action will receive the punishment предусмотрed by law.
