The National Security Policies Committee meets Nano: Albanian secret services must be depoliticized The National Security Policies Committee meets THE DRAFT LAW FOR THE AMENDMENT OF SHIK IS UNDER REVIEW Nano: Albanian secret services must be depoliticized The National Security Policies Committee reviewed yesterday the amendments to the draft law on the National Information Service. Such a committee meets for the first time in Tirana and discussed the comprehensive reform of SHIK. Prime Minister Fatos Nano said that this service must be depoliticized and separated from political structures. According to him, decisions must be taken on changes that involve the entire security system. SHIK should be considered an intelligence service with an informational nature and with clearly defined duties in the draft law. The chairman of the committee, Deputy Prime Minister Kastriot Islami, declared that the committee's work will continue in the future as well in function of these changes. On page 6 of this magazine
