WAR WITH THE SERBS IS READY

The Serbian signature is missing; NATO planes are ready to bomb MONSINJORI - NATO aircraft are being prepared for air strikes against Serbia if Belgrade does not sign the peace agreement on Kosovo before the deadline runs out, Western officials warned yesterday. The peace agreement would likely have been signed before 20 March, the deadline set by the contact group. But more time is likely to be needed, diplomatic sources continue; on Saturday the signing of the agreement will also be offered. Javier Solana, in order to act militarily, must have an order from the NATO leadership, which is meeting today, while officials are very likely to decide to launch the bombing campaign if Belgrade does not sign the agreement before Saturday midnight.
