EXCLUSIVE SHKODËR—The criminal police section at the Shkodër Prefecture Police Directorate has managed to uncover the secrets of the terrorist gangs that blew up, using explosives, the high-voltage pylon in Pukë in March. It was one of the pylons on the main line that distributed electricity from the Fierzë and Koman hydroelectric power plants to the country’s other districts. The mining of this pylon, as well as of several others, had caused major disruptions in the population’s electricity supply. The news of the gang’s capture was also confirmed last night by one of the senior officers of the Shkodër Prefecture police. He declined to give details or name those detained, saying this could damage the investigation, but said it was true that we had detained four people in the last 24 hours. He said they were from the municipality of Fierzë in Pukë, and that two had been detained in Pukë while the other two had been detained by Shkodër police in Durrës, where they had gone to live. The police official said the investigations so far showed that all of them, acting together, had carried out the terrorist act by mining the high-voltage pylon. And not only that: the police have secured evidence that they also committed a murder. The Shkodër police official stressed that uncovering this gang was one of the criminal police’s most successful operations in the fight against crime and terrorist acts.
