KATESHI

The police in Elbasan catches him asleep in Tirana and parades him in handcuffs through the streets of Elbasan Commentary on the spectacular operation of the Elbasan Police, speaks Commissioner Edmond Koseni PAGE 2 In the Shakespearean[?] operation of the Elbasan police, the people did not want in Tirana, made possible the capture of the strongest man in the Albanian police. This event, now called Kateshi, surprised the accused, as a police officer proven in police court. The[?] accused is known in the criminal world as a success of domestic policy, among other things for the full exploitation of opportunities by the arresting officers. According to Commissioner Edmond Koseni, chief of Police Station No. 4 in Tirana, the arrested man was caught at 6 o'clock on Saturday at his mother's house near the center of Tirana. Still asleep, he was handcuffed and then escorted to Elbasan, where he was displayed before the media and citizens, presented as one of the most dangerous men of recent times. The latter is accused of three murders that took place in Elbasan, including the killing of the son of the well-known politician Elvis Pupa. According to the police, he had not committed any crime recently, but had been hiding carefully. The operation was described as a complete success of the law-and-order structures. Crime is fought when politics does not speak in the middle, when alibis do not rise among statesmen, when the gun in the killer's hand does not turn into a decoration for the applause of part of Albanian politics. This general view was expressed yesterday in Durrës by the PDSH parliamentary group about the operation successfully carried out by the state police and law-enforcement forces in the arrest of Dritan Kateshi, the accused killer denounced as the organizer of several high-profile murders, among them that of deputy Azem Hajdari. Through this strong op[p?]sition against the perpetrators of crimes, the deputies believe that the real message of the struggle against crime is being delivered, because it cannot begin with the gesture of secret police and the ugly spectacle in public. The PDSH deputies state that if yesterday's parliament was split in half by the delegates of Berisha's PD, all the better for the country's democracy.
