Here is how we are defeating Berisha with wage and pension increases
Minister Angjeli presents the economic balance sheet: the consolidation of finances shows the consolidation of the state
• The minimum wage today is 6,645 lekë; during Berisha's time, in 1996, it was 3,700 lekë. The Socialists raised it to 4,400 lekë in 1997 and to 5,800 lekë in 1998. • The average monthly wage today is 16,500 lekë - during Berisha's time, in 1996, it was 8,638 lekë. The Socialists raised it to 9,558 lekë in 1997 and to 10,898 lekë in 1998. • During the three years of Left-wing governments for the state, wages have increased by 70% - in 1998 pensions increased by 21-23%. • In 1999 they increased by 10%. • In 1998 pensions increased by 21-23% - in 1999 pensions increased by 10%. • In 2000, starting from 1 July, pensions will increase by 8-10%, while on 1 April the implementation of pension differentials began

*Note: spending on public investments will continue until the end of the year.
This is why we see that the increase in wages in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 has followed such a progressive line from a very low starting point. This shows a strengthening of the state and an increase in its capacity to meet financial responsibilities. This means that public finance indicators have improved. In this context we also see the increase in minimum and average wages in the budgetary sector in recent years.
