“The Constitution now there”

In one week it will reach Parliament In parliamentary session Kairi the point of division still without a day Here are the four main points of the draft constitution that have entered or not entered into discussions From the Parliament session TIRANA — “For some years now, the first moon, the one that comes before, arrives late,” said last night one of the members of the Parliamentary Commission that is drafting the Constitution. He had come straight from work and, as usual, had postponed the family dinner and other tasks because the evening session had remained exceptional. The members of the special commission are gathering to review once again the articles that form its backbone: the functioning of the state, the balance of powers, human rights and the powers of the institutions. In the work rooms they were reading and rereading the formulations, correcting words or expressions and, in addition, noting the remarks of the day. The draft is at the stage where it can be considered ready to be sent to Parliament, but not before several remaining knots are clarified. Points of debate have been the role of the President, the relations between the government and parliament, the way certain bodies are elected and the powers of local government. Some members think the draft should go forward as soon as possible, while others are asking for a little more time to avoid possible ambiguities and contradictions. Nevertheless, according to them, within a week the full text could reach Parliament. Among the issues that still have not been fully closed are the way powers are divided between the President and the Prime Minister, the scope of parliamentary oversight and several articles related to guaranteeing citizens’ freedoms. The commission said that the constitution should not be only a legal text, but also a guarantee of the country’s stability in the years to come. The members of the commission hope that, once the draft is presented in the chamber, the deputies will be ready for serious debate and will avoid a confrontational spirit. Last night’s work lasted until late. Although not everyone agreed on every formulation, according to those present there had been visible progress. It was also repeated that some debatable points will be accompanied by explanatory notes for the deputies. If no new obstacles arise, next week is expected to be decisive for the project’s move into the parliamentary phase.

Godo: “An act of piracy”

GESTHA “SHPRESA” Shpëtim Hoxha: The New Agencies operation is a story that will end up in court Godo: “An act of piracy” “There is no scandal here,” they say, regarding the issue of who the real owners of this company are, or not?[?] CARLO BOLLINO TIRANA — “In a few days all this story will be over. One of the government’s lawyers informed me yesterday that he will take the matter to court.” According to Sabri Godo, one of the owners of the agency “Shpresa”, the company has become the object of an unlawful intervention and everything that has happened is nothing but an “act of piracy”. According to him, by court decision and with proper documents, the company’s ownership is clear. He said that the offices have been occupied and that his employees have not been allowed to enter work normally. Godo said that this is not a financial scandal, but an attempt to seize control of the company by force. “There is no scandal here,” he declared, “but only a conflict over ownership and administration.” On the other hand, people involved in the case claim that they have the right to administer the agency and dispute Godo’s version. The court is expected to clarify the legality of the documents, the composition of the owners and the way the administration has been carried out so far. Sources close to the parties said that the file contains contracts, decisions and minutes that will be examined at the hearing. Shpëtim Hoxha, mentioned in the conflict, said that the matter must be resolved through legal channels and that no one can seize the headquarters or documents by force. Meanwhile, the legal representatives of the parties are preparing the arguments they will present in court. Until then, the company’s activity remains tense and unclear. Sabri Godo

Nicoli: “The company is mine”

The entrepreneur hints at a strange arrangement The company “Shpresa” is under his administration and not anyone else’s. In a public letter to the newspaper, the entrepreneur Dorentiny International Court of Justice?[?] (From 8 o...) “The company is ours and is administered by me by notarial decision. I do not understand how others can present themselves as owners or administrators without having the proper documentation.” This is how entrepreneur Nicoli expresses himself in a response sent to the newsroom. In the letter he hints that, after the noise created, there may also have been attempts at an unusual agreement between the parties. According to him, some people sought a solution outside normal channels, but he did not accept it. Nicoli says that the company’s seal, stamps and documents are in his possession and that any action carried out without his knowledge is invalid. He claims that he has invested time and money to keep the company’s activity going and that he will not give up the rights granted to him by law. He also underlines that, if necessary, he will also turn to international bodies to defend his interests. The letter ends with a request that public opinion wait for the decision of the competent authorities and not judge prematurely. Dorentiny International Court of Justice?[?]

For Gjilani Amelio the history of Albania is recited

The tanks return to Skanderbeg Square TIRANA — In Skanderbeg Square, in front of the monument, the heavy military vehicles that had become a symbol of the tense days were once again placed last night. The tanks and other vehicles, brought for filming or for a public event, immediately aroused curiosity and confusion among passersby. Many stopped to look at them up close and ask what was happening. According to the organizers, the scene was linked to an artistic project in which, through strong images, the aim was to “recite” the history of Albania before the director Amelio and the other guests. The presence of military vehicles in the heart of the capital brought recent events to mind and sparked debate among citizens: some saw it as an aesthetic provocation, others as a necessary reminder. In the evening the place filled with people, curious and astonished. Some thought it was an alarm, while others, after learning the reason, followed the development of the scene with interest. The organizers said that everything was authorized and under control. The accompanying photo shows one of the vehicles placed in the center of the square, while passersby watch from a distance. The return of the tanks to “Skanderbeg” turned the center of Tirana for a few hours into an unusual space.

A money changer is killed over dollars

Mysterious crime in Tirana Apei Shkurti in defense in Salius?[?] TIRANA — On Friday afternoon, a money changer was shot dead with a firearm. The incident occurred in a small street near the market area, where the victim carried out foreign-exchange activities. According to witnesses, the perpetrator approached quickly, fired, and then fled in the ensuing confusion. The police have launched an investigation, but by last night the motives remained unclear. One lead is linked to the theft of money, since several dollars and personal belongings were missing near the victim. Another line of inquiry does not rule out a settling of scores between people involved in currency exchange. Investigators are questioning people who were nearby and are verifying the victim’s movements during the last hours. Residents of the area said they heard gunshots and saw people running. Some of them tried to help the wounded man, but he had already died. The body was taken to the morgue for examination, while the police are searching for traces and evidence that could help identify the perpetrator. The incident has caused concern among other money changers in Tirana, who consider their activity increasingly dangerous in the current climate of insecurity. The investigation continues.
