Nano: We will find the money from the usury schemes
The new prime minister opens up the old wound: “What happened to the pyramids?”
Yesterday the Government’s program was presented before Parliament. Another urgent goal is also the elimination of criminal gangs
TIRANA- Clarifying the whereabouts of the money lost during the general rebellion and holding the leaders of the pyramid companies accountable will be one of the main issues in the program of the new government cabinet. Nano has called this a moral as well as political obligation toward the deceived Albanians, who, according to him, must be guided so they can regain trust that the rule of law will exist. Presenting yesterday in plenary session the program of his government before the Assembly, the appointed prime minister Fatos Nano said that he considered one of the main factors of the country’s instability to have been the financial suffocation of the state. “It came as a direct consequence of the degradation of the authority of the state and the anarchy that erupted in the first months of this year,” Nano said. He stated that he is aware that, as a government established democratically through the free elections of 29 June, it will be based on correct relations with the opposition and will fulfill the responsibilities that make it such. The program of the left-wing government, led by Nano, is oriented around four priorities: restoring public order and calm, rebuilding the devastated economy, drafting a package of laws that would facilitate the fight against corruption, and undertaking institutional and administrative reform.
“Alba”: The collapse begins...
Nano: “Besides trying to revive them, even if you are still there you will resign”
“It will begin with an investigation into the firms that took citizens’ money and the people in government involved. ‘There is no government more interested than this one in answering the question: where did the 400 million dollars go?!’” Nano declared. Mr. Nano said that the government will not stop before any investigation, especially for those companies accused of the disappearance of capital and the robbery of deposits.
“There will be a rigorous investigation into how public assets are being managed and full transparency over privatizations and concessions,” said Nano. In the program, the new government also emphasizes the restoration of public order throughout the country, with a coordinated action against criminal gangs and illegal weapons.
