FOR A GREATER INCENTIVE FOR FOREIGN INVESTORS

G-24 will meet in Tirana The Chairman of the Democratic Party and of the Albanian government, Aleksandër Meksi, has taken part in a series of meetings and conferences on economic issues and foreign investment. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of creating a more favorable climate for foreign investors and overcoming administrative obstacles. It was also underlined that the G-24 group will meet in Tirana, representing an important step toward promoting economic cooperation. Views were also expressed on the need for deeper economic reform and for strengthening democratic institutions in the country. (To be continued on page 3)

President Borislla’s visit in Slovenia

(For a chronicle by the dpa news agency) The Slovenian President Milan Kuçan, with the participation of representatives of culture, trade from Vienna, the sub-executive committee and the central committee of the liberal party, confirmed on Monday, 9 March, that the President of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegoviç, and its prime minister had the opportunity to visit Ljubljana. Within the framework of the earlier decisions, the Slovenian side would consider the issue of recognizing the independence of Bosnia-Herzegovina, should its independence be proclaimed. He added that the government of Slovenia would do everything to speed up the procedures for the republic’s international admission. (ATSH)

Lead in the hall of the Democratic Party

Responsibility for teaching the learning The chairman of the Democratic Party of Gjirokastra, Mr. Blloshmi, declared that the organization is preparing for the elections and is strengthening its structures in the districts. He stressed the importance of the participation of youth and intellectuals in political life, as well as the need to coordinate activities with the center. The Shkodra trial will begin on 20 November

FROM THE PEOPLE'S ASSEMBLY The interpellation with the ministers of the interior and with the minister of justice was related to the latest developments in the country and the activity of the justice authorities. In the deputies’ discussions, clarification of responsibilities for the events in Shkodra was requested, and it was emphasized that the judicial process should begin on 20 November 1992. Albania in the food market

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Agriculture and other state institutions, the supply of food goods is difficult in several cities. Efforts have been made to stabilize the market and ensure better distribution of basic products. Prices continue to be high, while consumer demand remains strong.

Workers for the improvement of the electrical network

Work continues on the reconstruction of the lines and the repair of faults in the electrical network. In some areas, measures have been taken to reduce power cuts and ensure a more stable supply for the population.

In NB Mërqiqi the workers are not given compensation!

For a long period, the workers of this enterprise have complained that they have not received the promised compensation. According to them, this has caused financial difficulties for families and has created dissatisfaction in the workplace.

Not in Uprin... I have been thrown into one branch of the enterprise, then, who else with 80 percent, twice as much as the others. Statement by the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Ministry of Foreign Affairs The continuation of the war in Yugoslavia, expressed in the positions and statements of various authorities, constitutes a serious concern for the region. The statement says that Albania supports the peaceful resolution of conflicts and respect for the rights of peoples. It also condemns actions that threaten peace and stability in the Balkans.
